NASA: Global Warming to blame for recent Heat Waves.

Duh. Isn't this like saying fire is the reason my house burned down? Oh well. And they say GLOBAL WARMING not Climate Change. That's important. We can stop beating around the bush and calling it what it is not. Climate Change implies it can go either way. Global Warming says its changing in a distinct way. Given that this is the hottest July since we started keeping records on this sort of thing it gets to be pretty obvious. Now, what can we do about it, if anything at all? Are there ways we can start to prepare for what's coming our way? Maybe try to reverse it with technologies like Carbon Sequestering and Orbital Solar Shields? Maybe start the migration inland as the water level rises? Something? Or are we going to bury our heads in the sand and pretend its a political argument, and say that change, any change, is bad for business.

Global Warming says its changing in a distinct way.
Excuse Me If I Interject On This Statement But It Seems You Misplaced Your Definitions Am I Not Right If I Believe Global Warming Is To Describe A Climate Phenomenon That Is Ultimately Caused By Human Beings Rather Than Saying It Means "Things will only get hotter" Which Is What I Gather From Your Sentence And That Climate Change Can Mean The Temperatures Unusual Patterns Were Not Of Human Intervention And Of Natural Atmospheric Cycles Sorry To Interrupt But I Felt I Had To Correct You There
...*sigh* OK, Global Warming = Everywhere on the Globe is getting warmer. Climate change = the climate is changing. Human intervention may or may not be in either one. One states that things are in flux, the other indicates a direction of change. Why is this hard? *facepalm* every one on the flood ate paint chips as children.
Okay I'll ditch the quirk just for now and just tell you that your OP was badly worded. See, the way you typed it, you implied that saying "climate change" meant that it could "go either way", but that's a very brash and vague statement, in short, not very concise. There are more than a couple viable interpretations that would still fit like a jigsaw into your context, but from another person's point of view, the meaning may not be as potent for them as it is to you. I merely stated that the difference between the definitions are mainly to due with the fact that one is caused by human intervention and the other isn't, which is the main argument between the two sides, and not whether it is getting colder or hotter; because even with global warming, there have been predictions of possibilities that a certain chain of events could even lead to a second ice age. I just wanted you to know the main difference between the two were NOT in which direction the temperature of the Earth went. I really need to extend this text sleeve.
