Warlock Powers

What powers would you like to see for the Warlock? I mean being a Space Wizard you are obviously going to have some sort of powers, right. Here's what I'd like: [quote]Health Drain: Drains an enemy's health and heals you.     I feel like, given the Warlock's seeming reliance on offensive powers, having a Heal would make sense; it's a kind of situational tradeoff. If it draws from the same cooldown or energy reserves as different powers likely would, I wouldn't imagine it as a kind of regen field that you throw down that lasts a given amount of time, or a spell that casts out a field that heals the first person to walk into it. Instead, it simply works; you cast it, and whichever ally in your party nearest death instantly recovers or quickly regens an appropriate amount of health/armor/shielding, whatever the main damage system may be. It could be limited to a certain range, but the idea is it doesn't need to be aimed. The balancing factor would be you're giving up your energy/cooldown for that period to help an ally. I've seen that all the classes seem to be able to wield what looks like automatic weapons, but haven't they mentioned something about Warlocks wielding shotguns, too? In that case, I could imagine that this weaker mid-range fully automatic weapon (one needs you to focus a sort of DPS beam rather than pull off high-damage individual shots) becoming more effective with a power that lets you manipulate an enemy's position, but I don't know how fairly that power would play in PvP; maybe as a stun that you have to actually charge up and aim, that pushes a target or targets back/down, but that would be on a cooldown so you can't spam it and have to aim it carefully. You could then either close the distance to get into shotgun range, or melt them from farther away with a full-auto weapon while they're briefly stuck out of cover.

  • Force Field Shields being able to protect allies from enemy fire, telekinesis - being able to move objects and squashing enemies with them, another cool one would be Summoning with a twist: So the Green enemies seem to have their soulds ripped from their bodies when they die, I think it would be cool that if you are playing as a Warlock and regardless of who killed the enemy that the Warlock has a spell or ability to capture the spirit. While in another battle the Warlock would cast a Summon spell that would use that spirit/soul that was captured to fight for you.. I think that would be cool and challenging cause each spirit/soul could have a single use or certain time/life span then having the spell needing another soul

    Would like to see some elemental powers: fire, ice, wind, air and telekinesis. I for one don't want the warlock to be like a full grown wizard thorgh, i want him to use his gun mostly and his magic only to deal more damage where the gun cant.

    I'd like to see them able to wall hack themselves and Allies. Example a Warlock sets down a symbol and they or someone else can pass through the wall into another chamber or hallway. Have an extremely long cool down period attached so it something that cannot be spammed, while factoring the distance of travel. To far and you become a part of the wall.

  • I change my mind. If Summon Guardian had healing powers like Colonel Aloki idea. I could see that being useful.

    • I like all that you put on there but Summon Guardian, only because I could care less for AI and with things like that its always you cant play that class unless you use the bot.

        I'm hoping for more powers than could be listed in a single thread, but here's what I would want the most: [quote][b]Dash:[/b] A power similar to Biotic Charge from Mass Effect. Allows players to close the gap quickly. [b]Drain:[/b] Can be spec'd to either drain Health, Shields, or Energy from enemies. [b]Fortify:[/b] Drains your energy reserves over time to increase shield capacity. [/quote] Those are the main powers I would want, as I plan on playing a CQC Warlock, and those powers offer a high level of survivability in close-quarters encounters.

        • I like Wauzzers idea of Force push and I like yours, boss, about the Energy blast as well. What I would add would be a healing power. I know that a lot of players dont like the idea but still, we WILL need medics on the front lines.

        • A force push would be nice or maybe a force shield (like in halo 4) or why not a fire/force ball (it is not new but it is a proven concept).
