Guys the updates haven't actually been put into play yet, they will be soon. So stop complaining if you had to play Oddball on snowbound last night, it will be gone soon. So just be happy that it IS going:) These updates are awesome though, cept for the swords on lone wolves, dunno bout that. But taking out Epitah and Snowbound on oddball is a GREAT idea, those stupid force feilds make it impossible to get the oddball off anyone. And Valhalla on team slayer is going to be great, i been wanting that for way too long:)

If you don't like to play a lot of the ranked variants of games, why do you also care about your rank so much? Just play ranked doubles as if it was social. Warm up on it etc. That way your rank will get attuned to how hard you are trying/how well you are playing and give you good, even matches that aren't full of campers. Just don't care about how high it gets and use it for it's intended purpose - to find you fun matches!! I wrote a real nice reply to the Melee's and other issues and then my connection crapped out on me! I lost it all, that'll teach me to type into a browser. (Yet again... I'm still not learning - here I am doing the same thing AGAIN!) Anyway - SO glad to know you are looking into melee's, the current system really sucks. Badly. I also hope you might return the physics side of melee's. One where gravity counts. A running melee does more damage etc. I hate to see things go backwards and it was a really good part of Halo 2. I hope that others agree that the melee system needs changing - perhaps the timing of what is considered "simultaneaous" needs adjusting. Democracy FTW!! ;)

Just when is the update to occur. My system has not updated any matchmaking playlists. So something must be happening in the future even though the article makes it sound like it already happened. Let us know.

I am so thoroughly disappointed that the cheaters had to ruin everything for me. My favorite playlist by far was Social Doubles. I understand that there has been a lot of boosting on it, but people are going to boost anyways. Why do I have to pay for something they've done? Now the gametype I enjoy most is gone, and I have to settle with camping retards in Team Doubles. For me, that's the difference between the two. And that's also why I have used Team Doubles to get my level 41 and have not been playing it since. It's not fun to play, and I hate having to worry about my ranking. I can't warm up for it now, either, because the Social variant is now gone. Look at my records: I don't boost. There are times when people are rubber-banding their controllers and I encounter a permanent loser from somebody else's boosting match, but what do I do at that point? Back out and lose EXP? Sit there for 10 minutes? I'm very appreciative that Bungie is, as always, heavily supporting their community. I've had the same complaint everybody else has had. I'm sick of seeing General Grade 3's who have boosted thousands of Social Doubles matches to get their rank. Halo 3 might be seeing a lot less playtime from me. There's very few ranked types I like to play, and most of the social variants suck. Social Doubles is the perfect match for me. Less walking targets, and you have to account for every kill and death instead of running in, ganging up, or taking potshots at people. Aside from the campers, which I would get over because it's a Social gametype, the match was the perfect combination of teamwork and being accountable for your own performance. But, hey, I'm probably one of those that won't reach Bungie's ears, so what am I to do? I guess I'll just go out and buy COD4 to keep me busy.

I agree. Slayer on Valhalla will give the game type a "Gulch Wars" kind of feeling. I also like the heat maps. They help you out in making your own maps by teaching you that where a weapons is placed greatly affects the impact of its effectiveness. I'd like to see more of that in forge maps.

Sounds like some interesting changes. Yay for swords and rocket race! Also, Team Slayer on Valhalla is very cool.

I love the ideas of being put into halo 3 because the heat is showing people the areas controlled and used the most during games. it allows many people to see what people play like whether they are campers or people you can never find. But i disagree with it at the same time for one reason it may make it lag which is what you are going to wait and see. But is also may make it very hard to see whether its on the first or second floor or the basement. will you be able to change the directions of the camera like a game preview is able to?

Yeah i just wish that bungie would fix my security shoulders, they locked up on me after i had already played the Ark on the meta game and unlocked them. Now i dont think i can get them back, cuz ive retried it like 5 times

Thank god for more Team Slayer maps! I like all the maps, but some seemed too repetitive. Also, please make some object changes on Isolation to make it less "vetoable"

so you say that odball on snowbound and epitaph have been reduced considerably? thats funny because just last night, I played about 3 or 4 odball games on snowbound consecutively. And everytime we vetoed something, it went to odball... whats up with that man? It was either odball or Crazy King,,, Mostly everyone I talked to that played Lone Wolves last night, said that that kept happeneing to them too. It's hard to get achievments and such during odball, but that just may be me! LOL anywayz, yeah please look into that. Would like to see more slayer and more diverse games than just objective games. If I wanted to play objective games, I would choose them. A few here and there is fine but yeah, so anywayz yeah, ok bye!

In the last two weeks I've seen a 100% imporvement on the user end for posted recent screen shots. I take A TON and often found only 1 or 2, some times none, being posted. I went the route of of file share but the last 3 times I haven't had too. Hats off to you Bungie!

Quit complaining...not all people liked social doubles and the like...I don't even play multiplayer because every time I do I invariably get my rear handed to me by some 12 year old who has no life. As for the article...I'm a Texan and I'm offended :) it's Y'all...Yankees. :)

To "competitive" whiners: Swords take as much skill as anything else. It's fun and different from regular games, but it requires strategy as much as they do.

my mate and I used to play Halo 1 non-stop so I'd love to see some remakes of Halo 1 maps make their way into future DLC death island, timberland. I can't remember the names of all of them but I'd really wanna play at em again on the 360
