14 year old student shot in the back of the neck by another student after "an argument". Fortunately he will be OK.
-
Guess what? We don't care!
-
Welp. Is it applicable to punish the student? Certainly punish the father and/or mother in this situation for not keeping that gun under control. But punish the student for taking that from 0mph to -blam!-ed up in two seconds?
-
Blame video games. /NRA
-
Glad it's not a mass shooting, at least.
-
Considering the age of this kid, chances are he plays video games. Not to disregard the tragedy of this shooting, I hope the victim recovers soon, but I really don't want this turned into a political issue like the Connecticut shooting was.
-
PUNISH ERYYBODY NAO
-
Guns aren't to blame!! For some reason!
-
Saw it coming. I think the next shooting will be within a fortnight. I can't believe that after all the shootings lately, America still hasn't banned guns.

Ban 14-Year-Olds

Edited by Jaaake AU: 2/1/2013 6:18:28 AMI find your title offensive. Are you implying that shootings are common in the United States? oh, someone took my post seriously. This is awkward
-
get your shit together america
-
Aaaaaand people are going to blow this way out of proportion as usual.
-
-
All these shootings. It makes me sad.
-
I was actually kind of surprised to hear this. Then I saw that it was in Atlanta. Then I saw that they were Black Middle schoolers. Then I was all like "Oh, LOL, that's normal."
-
Oh look, one citizen -blam!-ed up today. An underage citizen that had no right having a gun, broke numerous laws doing so, and who was falsely led to believe that violence was the only way to solve their problem. Guns are not the issue, people are.
-
The right thing to do is to ban necks. If a person doesn't have a neck then they can't be shot there.
-
-
-
But weren't guns banned there? And how did the 14 year old purchase the firearm? Oh...

I am reading a lot of peoples posts and I think people don't realize guns are not the problem, it is people. The suspect was a student at the middle school, he can't legally own a gun, so it MUST have been illegally obtained or stolen. The fact is parents need to make sure if they own gun they need to be locked up and out of the reach of children. It is obvious though the attacker meant to do harm to the victim as the victim was the main target.

This is an interesting site most people have probably seen already. While people only tend to talk gun control after mass shootings of kids, it's interesting to note that a thousand others are killed each month, with a good chunk of them being juveniles. But, gotta keep them guns. Imagine a world where a pretty argument doesn't end up with a few dead innocent bystanders. What kind of tyrannical hellscape would that be?
-
I think we should start charging people with jail time if they can't keep their guns secure. If your kid steals your gun, YOU SHOULD ALSO FACE JAIL TIME. Just like if your kid takes your car and runs a red light, PARENTS HAVE TO PAY THE GOD DAMN FINE. There should be repurcussions for neglegence.
