In case you haven't heard, GTA V has been delayed.
By about five months to be exact, it's coming 9•17•13 instead of Spring '13.
While I don't mind games being delayed for the sake of improving the experience and quality, I do mind publishers hyping their game for a specific time frame for quite some time, hyping some great news about their games at the end of the month, then proceeding to give their fans the finger by replacing that awesome news(GTA V's box art was supposed to be released at the end of January) with something as rage-inducing as announcing a release date within a completely different time frame than the one announced only months prior.
Bungie, take notes. Don't tell us when to expect your games unless you're 100% sure.

I'm actually okay with this, pretty excited to be honest. It comes out two days before my birthday.
-
Scenario A: They don't delay the game and release it with some issues Fanbase: "ROCKSTAR YOU PIECE OF SHIT. Y U RELEASE SHITTY BUGGY GAME" Scenario B: Rockstar decided they need more time to finish the game Fanbase: "ROCKSTAR YOU PIECE OF SHIT. WE WANT OUR GTA V AND WE WANT IT NOW."

Lets pray this doesn't happen to Destiny
-
That sucks...

I read somewhere that Rockstar said it would be bigger than GTA: SA, GTA4 and Read Dead: Redemption combined. If that ends up being the case, the game is going to be absolutely insane.
-
While I'm bummed that it won't be out and fill that slot of "awesome go to summer title," I'm glad it was delayed to give consumers a better, more polished product. Rockstar is awesome and GTA V is going to be amazing. Them having a bit more time with it to make it even better for us is fine by me even if I'm sad that I have to wait a bit longer.

Your username...change it to SangheiliSlayer.
then proceeding to give their fans the finger
I think you should be less self-centered. They've likely delayed release to ensure we get the best possible product. If that's shooting you the bird, then you're deluded.
-
In the press release about the delay, Rockstar said that the five months would be used to polish the game for the optimal experience. Would you rather it be buggy as hell? You'd be complaining here about that.
-
Changing a tentative release date is not the same thing as giving you the finger.
-
So game makers should do absolutely no marketing until the game is certified? Considering they aren't finished until a couple weeks before release, and the development cycles are 3+ years, seems rather cruel to only let them talk about their product for a couple weeks twice a decade.

Don't cry about something you're waiting for until it reaches StarCraft: Ghost status. You can stand to wait a few more months.
-
I'd rather they take their time and make the game perfect before releasing it. You remember Halo 4 right??
