I have a question about the forerunners

So according to Halo: Legends in the "Origins" story, it talks about how the forerunners gathered several species of intelligent life so they could repopulate the universe after they fire the halos. My question is why didn't they preserve their own species? or did they? i'm reading the Greg Bear novels right, so if my question is answered in Cryptum or Primordium please tell me to keep reading because i don't want the books to be spoiled hahaha. thanks guys! :)

 •
Posted by: Frisky Cole
Posted by: Ashtarh1 In Halo 4 the Prometheans are the enemy, Not the forerunners themselves, the Prometheans are AI machines created by the Forerunners so they must have survived the halo rings I think
SPOILER The way it works is the Prometheas were the top dogs eventually the forerunners came along and beat them. The prometheans created the flood as a Blam you for beating us. END SPOILER There cant be any forerunners because you need a foreruner to activae the halos, or 343 would of activated Delta Halo without the help of john. Also all the forerners that were outside the "Safe Zone" were wiped out durng the firngs, nd the sheild worlds wre leaked. Everyne in the "Safe Zone" would also be killed during he intial firings. Tht being said though, whe the spartans were recovered they had sheild pods. Two of them had bodies but they weren't spartans.
Everything you said was absolutely incorrect.
