i think the shields should act like the sentinel shields do in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. The shield stops all high speed ballistics(bullets, shrapnel) but not low speed objects(grenades mainly) this will make for good cover against distance fighters, yet leave you still vulnerable to attacks of some sort. cause the sound of you almost killing someone, then they barely make it into the shield, recover, and then pop in and out taking potshots just so that you cant get the kill, gives alot for newbs to play, and annoy you with.
