People seem to have put themselves under the delusion that because the Spartans have shields in gameplay the whole thing is non-canonical when we've known for [i]years[/i] that gameplay is not representative of canon.[/quote] It should be noted that 343i more or less made the shields canon according to their visual guide book by adding in a bit about fielding prototype shield modules for testing the same year Halo Wars takes place.
