All the Spartans died in the Fourth book, and Bruce is the name of the Spartan you play as in the Halo game. They don't say anything about Bruce because it keeps up the Bungie code of secrecy, but most Hardcore fans have known about Bruce, Wort and the gang for Decades. We're already on the the Plasma Minigun and the part of the game where you throw explosive Grunts at the army of Engineers.
