•
Posted by: Tiletron In the trailer it showed what I thought was the docking station on High Charity for the "Ark" - a control-ship that could fire all remaining Halos simultaneously - but now I am not so sure. Before I ask my question, I will be making some comparisons. We know that the Forerunner-Flood War happened 900,000 years ago, after a statement made by Marcus Lehto during Halo2's development process. We also know that during this period, the Halos were activated. In Earth's history there are also a number of references to "Noah's Ark" and "the great Flood created to purge and purify the world", in the story of Gilgamesh... and the city of Atlantis during this period; where the flood swallowed the city into the ocean. All of this was part of a story told by Plato about a civil war that occured long before our own civilisations. According to some historians, the Earth surrounding the desert-regions of Africa 1 million years ago were covered by both fields and ocean/waterway systems, and it is theorised some natural disaster caused this to be obliterated. Also in the story of Atlantis, "the fall" was attributed to a war between a confederacy of the rulers of the city (who had cohabited with mortals) and the gods who created it and the rings that surrounded and protected it. Lastly, there is some discrepancy in the time in which this war was set; either being 900 or 9,000 years ago, or perhaps even longer than Plato believed. Now we've always assumed that each of these Halos were just weapon-platforms, but in the first game Cortana said the Forerunners referred to them as "fortress worlds". It is also fair to assume that - while at the start of Halo 1 there were seven rings - there might have been 10 of them as Plato's story suggested... (wait for it) In the trailer, the top of the structure in the crater looks similar to the control centers on the other Halos, but because it's on Earth it can't be a Halo itself. Is the structure in the trailer the city of Atlantis; buried by the devastation caused in the 100,000 Year War?
I always thought Alantis was involved in some way, but i could never really connect it. If what you say is true, then this could be a big find. Could you give me some Refrences that gave you this impression? I really want to learn more about it myself, thanks. -Aktins Diet
