Some guy in my economics class said that on myspace, there was a day planned to boycott gas. I thought that was the most stupid idea that is a waste of time and is not going to accomplish anything. My economics teacher said that even if there was a successful boycott, it will only be for a day and it's not going to affect the oil industry in the long run. Your gonna have to give in sooner or later if you rely on a car to get around.
I think this boycott is absolutely stupid and a day is not going to do anything to bring gas prices down. We need the gasoline more than the oil industries need our money. This contributes nothing to the community, it just gives a day off to the gas station. This is the most meaningless way to protest against big business.
A better solution to this would to drive gas efficient cars. Toyota and Honda have some pretty good gas saving cars. Or maybe putting in money to develope an alternative fuel that can be used economically one day, such as hydrogen power. Any other solutions guys?
