For now, I am glad bungie seems to be putting more work into maps than armor since the limitations in map diversity definitley outweighs the limitations in spartan permentations. None of them are terrible but none of them excite me either. However, they do NEED to add onto the current armor selection, especially the elites, and not just bubble helmets and miniscule thorasic changes but something impressive that fits the spirit that bungie has crafted for them, like Honor Guard. Then maybe the we will actually see players using the elite model. Spartans need more too. The hyabusa armor really reminds me of a power ranger and the EOD shoulders and EOD helmet are just silly. I kind of espected more from the permentations, and I think so did alot of other people. Thats why people got so attached to the recon armor because thats the kind of armor we expected to be able to use, impressive, distinct, and original (it was even in some of the promotional material.) Its a shame that bungie felt they had to keep it just to make themselves feel distinct....even though they had the flaming head permentation anyway (besides, you dont see any Ubisoft, Bethesda, Rockstar, Blizzard, EA, or Epic employees running around with employee only content. Bungie is a very unique developer but they are still a buisness with a responsibility to their consumers to offer the best content possible)....All in all I just expected more, from both the armors, maps, and from bungie, which all could easily rectified by extra content in multiple areas. (Remake Headlong and Boarding Action (especially boarding action,) the high def glory of halo 3 would finally do those maps the justice they deserve (especially boarding action))

Sorry guys I zoomed through the thread but I have a question... I was messing around looking for the recon armor as well and found out how to get to the otherside of the level with the barriers up. Did you guys post how to do this or do most of you have no idea what I am talking about?

You guys are stupid as hell. IF you look at all the people that have the recon helmet it tells you that they got the game 6 days before it ACTUALLY came out, that means that they must have gotten it from Bungie personally, or stole it. And i doubt they stole it.

Fair is fair. They deserve something others dont besides being able to make some of the greatest games Too bad Recon armor has such a nice looking body :( Downloadable Content Armor FTW! And some more maps and whatever you can fit in there Bungie!

I'm pretty sure that if it's going to be a bungie only armor, then they turned it on via an update or something HQ during the first day the game went gold. After that all employee's signed to their live accounts and maybe had to do something silly like just kill one person in matchmaking and they got the armor. Day 2 after the final version went gold, at HQ they disabled the achievement for even and reverted back to the original state so the update never really happened but the armor stayed? Maybe? I dunno. It's all got to be saved on the bungie network data anyways because the stats page knows what our armor looks like. I guess they could pull any gamertag they want and add armors, ranked medals... what ever really, but then again... they'd have to want to do that first. Also, does anyone find it interesting that this is on page 581 and i just posted this. Yet the thread count shows 583 pages? Has bungie been deleting posts that had correct information as to how to unlock the armor? I think the armor is ugly but I do love a good conspiracy theory. [Edited on 10.14.2007 7:45 PM PDT]

I think that we should all start a petition for Bungie to give us the Recon armor with the next DLC, i.e. - Maps. It doesn't need to be plainly given, just give us a scavenger hunt or something for the armor. I think most of us here have proven that we all tried hard to achieve something which we thought was the greatest armor in Halo 3 (I'm sure there'll be better armors). Can't Bungie just accept the fact that we all should be able to have that armor! If they wanted to be unique, just use the flaming heads! I have yet to see one Bungie employee with the Recon armor on either ranked nor social; why make an armor we(the public) won't be able to see in the open? All I'm trying to do is bring some incentive to the community to start a petition in hopes of getting our beloved armor into the hands of those who tried to unlock an armor that was locked to employees. Please don't flame and thank you Bungie for making a kick ass game!
