. . . by a hornet inside your own home? Man, it sucks ass. Well, I just moved in to my house yesterday (got DSL today) and was unpacking. Well, night had approached sooner than I thought so I began to put my bedframe and such together. I turn my matress over and laid it on my boxsprings only to be stung, not once, not twice, but three times by a hornet on the middle finger of my left hand. I'm not quite sure how that damn thing got in my room, but it hurt like a -blam!-. My middle finger swole up about three times larger than the middle finger on my right hand. Luckily the swelling was gone by morning but it really hurt, man. I'm not one to whine often, but that was the first time in my life I had ever been stung by anything. Of all the times I've been around bees and hornets and not been stung, I go into my own home only to be stung by something totally unexpected. It is interesting none-the-less yet still oh so painful.

My strangest sting was from a North American Puss moth caterpillar. I was working at a nature reserve picking potato vines when I received a little zap on my arm. I instantly had a rash at the area and within a hour my entire right torso was numb. A little pink caterpillar almost kicked my butt.
