Bizarre Google Adword... Triggered By "I Love Bees"

Ok, I did a search on Google for I Love Bees, and on the right, in the sponsored listings, there was a lone adword: and yet i remember what are these errant memories? www.errantmemory.com So I clicked on it, and was taken to a strange page with a Macromedia flash animation. Some text flew up on the screen : what... am I? bits of data sequences of numbers and yet... I remember what are these... errant memories? Then pictures of famous people flash up, Neil Armostrong, Elvis and Martin Luther King are the first three. Each one of these pictures is accompanied by a number, sometimes with a dot. Here's the code: 3. 8. 56. 51 .0 .53. 7. 150 .3. 15. All of this is played over a piece of music. I don't recognise it, but it kinda sounds like the Halo theme (although that's probably me looking for a connection that isn't there!). The animation just repeats after the sequence finishes. Now, I can't see any connection to Halo, besides the "I Love Bees" trigger for the adword. Now I've done some searching, and this is the ONLY phrase that triggers it. "I Love Bee" doesn't trigger it, "Love Bees" doesn't trigger it, "I Love" doesn't trigger it, and "I love Bees +anything else" doesn't trigger it. So someone is bidding on the exact phrase [I Love Bees] (I work with Google Adwords, so trust me). Every click on the ad costs the advertiser $0.05 US (I presume it's American), yet there is no exit on the site. No links at all. This is very strange, people don't use Adwords like this. People use Adwords to sell something, and hence make money. Or to promote charities. No one uses adwords to divert traffic to a site with a cryptic message, triggered by only one search term. Well, except Bungie, perhaps ;) Any ideas anyone?

  • If you think about this it's either a hoax (which would be hilarious) or a rea lly good problem that people are going to take hours out of their lives to solve. Anyone think of the Skulls?
