What the humans will use to defend against the flood
JELLYFISH!
since they're invertabrate they'll be immune to the flood the humans will send millions of them out to battle and when they sting the flood, they'll get pissd off and leave earth.
P.S. recorded theory while somewhat high, may not be reliable
