In 2 of the Halo books it says that inteligent A.I. constructs die after about 7 years of life. Cortana being the smartest A.I. ever produced is thought to have an even shorter life span than this. However when she entered the Control Room on Halo, she copied so much data that she was slowing down considerably in the third Halo book. She even admited to herself that its possible that she shortened her life span. She the proceeded to enter a highjacked covenant ship wher she assimilated even more data on anything she could find about the Covenant. She also managed to find a way to create copies of herself so that she could unload the data that she was picking up onto the copies, as well as be in two places at once. Now my question is, if she has managed to find a way to copie herself isnt that some sort of a gateway to her immortality. And on a further note, with her newfound copying ability she could be in more than one Spartan at once. Meaning that we could possibly use her in multiplayer??

Hmmm does anyone think "Death of Cortana" isn't a spoiler?
-
I tought about that ... but I hope she dosent die in halo2 .
-
each copy gets dumber tho. Ever seen multiplicity. Plus when she is relieved of the data she will have more room to think
-
Would be cool, having a sniper shoot at you then she says like "Sniper right"
-
Yea but did you notice that every time she copied herself, she became less like the original, losing a bit of personality with every copy. [Edited on 4/14/2004 7:32:19 PM]

she's cool. and when she copied herself she began to lose control/concentration, remember?

Ok, well the only way something is a spoiler is if it is a confirmed fact about a game that not many people know yet. That is a really interesting idea though! If Cortana is in multiplayer (which I doubt), that would be funny! "Chief! Watch out! Someone is going to melee you in the back!"
-
there would be no use for her in multi player. But i believe in First Strike it said that every copie made, data gets corrupt and infinite loops and stuff form. I havent read it in a while so if im wrong, please correct me.
-
That's exactly right, which is why after a finite amount of copies she'd be little more than a pile of useless code. It'd be nice if she was immortal, but as far as we know it's not going to happen.
-
i hope she dies, in the first halo shes more anooying then helpful
-
It would be nice to have her as the announcer. "Double Kill" "Triple Kill" "Killtacular"
-
ROFL UT FOREVER!!!!!! The greatest ones are "HOLY -blam!-!" and "M-M-M-M O S T E R K I L L!" ahh....UT2004 rocks.
-
when she cpies herself the copies lose coe and become corrupt, not the origional.. she would have never made copies if it would have hurt the origional and as soon as they got to earth or something she would have givin all that data to whoever and they would have just givin her what she needed to know while other AIs decoded it all and that wonderful stuff.

Dont forget that Dr Halsey made more than 1 smart AI
