I have to speak my mind.

If you ask me, this entire moddation business is getting the lot of us paranoid. It’s almost all that we talk about anymore. Last week, right before I left for vaccation, we were talking about mods, and when I get back, we are talking about mods once more. Quite frankly, people are getting obsessed with getting a mod title. I see this as a major problem; just like post-counters and short topic lists were problems in the past. When Sketch announced that there would be new mods he accidentally started this sort of contest- a contest that no one was willing to admit was really there. I also beleive it's safe to say that that all of us have gotten mod-fever, save for the mods, of course. The solution? Well, for now, sadly, there is none. Other than the fact than next time pick mods at random, otherwise we'll have people competing for the title.

 • Mod Killer,.... do you just have some unspoken angst towards everyone and everything on these forums? Anyway, being a mod means being patient, tolerant, and devoted to the work that goes into it... You need to know what to ban, and what to say to set an example when you ban it.... You need to have the time to look through most threads and weed out the bad ones. There's a lot of work that goes into it... and if you want to be one just because you have the power to ban and lock threads, or because you get a custom avatar, then you don't deserve to be a moderator... so for those that want it for those reasons, don't ask. You won't get it.
