I think I got it !
Well the discusion about the new image was very LOOOng . I have come to conclusion . There is a red team a Blue team and a freelancer team . The freelancer team can kill anybody and when they kill ,ore reds (like in the pic) the part of the armor becomes blue so they can ride in hogs with them , etc.

So im a little late with my idea, but... Maybe they are on the blue team,(blue panels)but they can have another color than blue I mean its hard to hide while playing a team game, bright red or blue on the brown earthen walls ov a cavern just doesnt do stealth So you can be on the blue team but be black (with the exception with the blue panels) Just a theory
