Why aren't the Halo games on Steam?

Why aren't Halo 1 and 2 on Steam? If they were released on Steam it would revitalize the online community and Microsoft would make an easy extra buck. There's no downside to it. Microsoft already put a lot of their games on Steam - Fable 1, Fable 3, Age of Empires 3, Age of Empires Online, Microsoft Flight, Deadlight, Mark of the Ninja, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, etc... So it makes absolutely no sense that the Halo games aren't on Steam. Microsoft please release Halo 1 and 2 on Steam! And while you're at it also give us PC gamers Halo 3 so we can at least "finish the fight"! I know Microsoft doesn't read this forum. I just wish Microsoft cared enough to do this simple task.

 • MS put up some of their own games on Steam, but it seems like MS has stopped caring about Halo PC/CE. You can't find any more new copies on Amazon that aren't for HaloMac-like prices. Meanwhile the MS games that are on steam, Fable and AoE3 still sell new. It's also not on MS's own Digital Distro services either, GFWL or Windows Marketplace. At least the servers are still up though, even though FSX (Which I think is still in print) just got shut by GameSpy.
Posted by: Decimator Omega The last thing Microsoft would do is sell their IP or part of it to Valve. If you had one heck of a cash cow that made you so much money, why on earth would you let other companies sell your game?
Putting up games on steam doesn't require selling IPs, and MS has done it with Fable and AoE3.
