So, it'd been awhile since I played Reach. I love the game, but life called and I had other responsibilities that drew my attention for a year or so. I come back and it seems 343 is running the show, now. So I learn all about the new custom challenge feature and think, damn. Maybe I could actually use this? Well, I've done a few and am well aquainted with how it works. Thats not what this is about. What I want to be able to do is save up and afford the Inclement Weather armor permutation. As you all know, thats 2 million friggin credits. I love this game, and for the first person to tell me to just "play the game", don't. I play this game and I love it dearly. Before I went on hiatus, I had achieved the rank of Colonel grade 3. I put a LOT into it. But I was also in between jobs at the time and had considerably more free time. In short, I'm a working man and by the time I have 2 MILLION credits, a good two years is gonna have passed. Halo 4 is right around the corner and this is my last big goal with Reach before I (regretfully) retire it as the population will wither and die like with Halo 3. If you wanna taste, load up number 3 and gasp in shock at the playlist size. Less than 100 players GLOBAL in some. Good lord! Sadness. Anyway, I am not a modder, and I refuse to use that save game editing macro program hack thats been going around. I don't manipulate networks, and I don't believe in anything blatantly cheating. I like to earn what I want. That DOESN'T mean I won't abuse an overlooked nitch here and there. THATS what this is about. A lot has gone on with the new custom challenges, including this well known "25k in 6 minutes" one. I tried it, and it doesn't appear to work. Either one of two things has occured. Theres a detail I'm missing, or Bungie (or 343 now, I suppose) has patched the damn thing to be less abusable. Ive also noticed that where it says my payout for the various enemy classes should be 5,000Cr, I'm only seeing a 2,000Cr threshold. The medals goal is reaching 5,000Cr on the challenge screen just fine. Except that when I go and apply this, theres no progress being charted. I cannot find a definitive answer anywhere on google or in any forum, but I thought I caught a tidbit once somewhere that some patch was applied to a recent exploit. Could it be the Target Locator no longer gives progress toward these challenges? Some people have claimed reaching INHERITOR (20,000,000Cr) by hitting the Cr cap everyday for up to three weeks with this trick. Ultimately, I was hoping someone that HAS used the above trick could please try it again and verify if it still works and I'm just missing something, or if there has indeed been a small patch. I don't care about reaching Inheritor, or any rank for that matter. I'm a hardcore gamer with too many responsibilities, and my final wish with Reach is a way to get that Inclement Weather :) I simply do not have the hours to put into this game to achieve that with casual play. I have bills to pay :/ So if the above method is indeed fixed, could someone help me find another way? Thank you!
