Getting into the game industry?

Hey, I am an aspiring writer and looking to follow through with my passion for games and to pursue a career in the field. I am looking to go to school for a degree in either game design or the more prominent one being creative writing. I am looking at Full Sail University due to the convenience factor of it being an online school and me being a father. Through research I have found mixed reviews and wanted to get the opinion both of Bungie and anyone in the community who has dealt with this school. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Chance

I am pursuing a career in Security and Risk Analysis focusing on information and cyber security and was wondering if any security experts in the games industry could shed some light on their work. I am not asking for technical details, but rather means to an end--how can someone like me become someone like you? Should I actively pursue certificates outside of school, and if so, which ones would be most valued in the games industry? How does security differ when working in the games industry than in other businesses? I do not expect to land a job right out of college working in security for a game developer, but where should I start? How might a college undergraduate like myself gain meaningful experience in the field? Most professionals that I have talked to have recommended consulting as a great way to enter the field as you gain a lot of experience in different settings in a relatively short period of time. Do gaming companies often hire consultants to perform security audits? Also, hi Urk, nice to see you back.
This may be helpful: http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?cid=32196 [Edited on 11.02.2012 10:36 AM PDT]
