Bungie Weekly Update: 08/24/07

I liked the weekly update, crap I can't complain about any thing! Forge sounds fantastic. I'm glad that you guys are puting the effort into H3, I know I wont be dissapointed!

Bah... forget the people pissing and moaning about this update. It definitely got me alittle bit more excited for Forge, so I'm not complaining! I absolutely love when games add editors like this to allow customizability, but I wouldn't have ever expected it in Halo! Nice update. [Edited on 08.26.2007 7:37 AM PDT]

It states that not much is to be expected in it, and you're complaining about wasting your time reading it. So before you go around the forums complaining about an update not living up to your standards, you might want to consider what the sub text actually means rather than jumping to conclusions.

Hey Frankie (et al) - long time, no spam! Sorry, but I think the corporate firewall has prevented me from logging in Friday afternoons to post those strangely inconceivable ramblings for which MthdDirector is well known. But that's what weekends are fore. I mean four. FEI* this was not the worst update. The award for BEST update goes to Alta (former princess of bungie) but it certainly wasn't the worst!!! Best of luck with the press tour, and getting sleep in general. You guys are formally invited to the midnight madness event at the Universal Citiwalk. There will be table dancing. I'm pretty sure about that. Just fyi. Until then, best of luck putting the finishing touches on the code, and dealing with all the dust mites. Funny story about messing with Luke's head on "Lukeout", but it raises an issue with me. I heard that there was a sort of matchmaking for custom games. I figured I would use this as an alternative to regular matchmaking when I wanted a very specific game type. (16 player CTF on Valhalla) I'm guessing Forge will be active in this system so I pray that there will be some way to avoid people using the original map name on Forge (at least for online play). I don't want to find what looks like an awesome standard CTF game, only to find all the Warthogs deleted and all weapons switched to Invisibility powerups. I want to be able to find a standard game if I'm in the mood for it.

I keep seeing that you are taking screen shots from the game, and they are going in 1920x1080. Does that mean the game runs in 1080p as well as 720p?

Where in the UK is Luke going to be? And I'm just slightly concerned about the use of Forge with will almost certainly be MLG. The idea of MLG in Halo 2 was that everyone had the same settings so when they train, people are all singing from the same hymn-sheet. With the concept of changing spawns, unless they're locked into certain places you can move them to, surely everyone would have a slightly different version of the map? Possibly they'd have to stick to factory-designed spawns just for clarity, anyway.
