The point of this thread is to give you tips and tricks to help you increase your skill level and hopefully help you raise your level. After high demand, I am pleased to bring you my new video series of "My Tips To Reach 50!" The first episode is on youtube, and can be viewed here- NEW VIDEO! My Tips To Reach 50: Quick Tip 2- Thumbsticks Quick Tips 2 Quick Tips 1 Alright, here's how it is: Lone wolves is the way to get your level to 45. If you want to get to 50, go double team. There's less players, so less figures go into the trueskill system. Easier for leveling. Get a good partner and rock the double team once you've gotten a 45 in lone wolves. Doing this will give you good experience on what to do by yourself in games, as you will do a lot in double team. Also, a partner will be able to pick up on what you lack, or if you're just having a bad game, they can save you the possible level loss. Most of all- play to eachother's strengths and use teamwork. When you see your friend go 1 on 1 with someone, pop their opponent a BR shot. this will ensure victory for your teammate, thus giving you a point. High level double team is not where people should use the sniper just because it's a way for easy kills. If it takes you 3 shots to kill someone, give it to your partner who'll get 2 or possibly 3 kills out of those 3 shots. Call out where opponents are. This will help you spring attacks. Call out where someone has no shield, so a nicely thrown grenade can finish up an enemy once your partner dies taking out their shield. LEARN MAP CALLOUT NAMES! (S2, S3, BR3, Top Blue). "On my X" is a terrible callout. Your X could be anywhere on the level, and your teammates would have to look around to find it. Your symbol even shows through walls. Specific locations are better. The best thing you can do for yourself is to learn callouts. Map Callouts Know who has what weapons. If one opponent has a sniper, try to keep a BR and some good close range weapon. This will let you BR at him from afar, letting you get in close where you can pull out your close range weapon. If your teammate has a sniper, grab a BR and a close range to back him up. BR to clean up his kills. It's better to waste a BR shot than a second sniper bullet. Keep your close range ready in case of a rush. Remember that damage is decreased a little bit when duel wielding a weapon. A single SMG can prove to be a vital close range weapon. I prefer single SMG over AR anyday. Dont let this deter you from using duel wielding. Look at it like this: SMG has attack power of 4. When you dual wield, each weapon's attack power is reduced by 1/4 of the original attack power. So, each SMG now has a power of 3 (1/4 * 4 = 1). Now, you have two, so you're new attack power is 6 (3+3=6). 6 is nice, but 4 isn't bad either, and with a single, you have access to grenades. But, with dual wielding, you have more bullets out at a single time. Instead of firing 10 bullets a second, you're firing 20. You should always carry a BR. Always. BR is just too essential to pass up. It's long range gives you an advantage over AR spammers, just walk backwards and headshot. If a friend dies, you have a 3 shot spray to pick off the guy with no shield he left for you from his fight. Some people prefer Carbine over BR, and i say it's really preference. If you have a shieldless opponent, BR is easier to headshot, as you have a bigger spread when firing. I say a good combo to have is BR and SMG. BR to have out constantly, then when you are going into an enclosed space, such as the bunker on High Ground, pull out the SMG. It'll outdo the AR. Don't waste time going for weapons. If you waste your time aiming for a certain weapon spawn, you'll lose. It's alright to run for a weapon at the start, but dont sit by the sniper spawn for 2 minutes and wait. Also, use this knowledge to your advantage. You know people are going for a predetermined spot before the game starts. You know they wont pass up the power weapons such as the sniper. Stop them. All of their focus will be on getting from point A to point B and wont even think anything can be in the way. Instead, try to keep track of weapon spawn times. If you pick up rockets at 14:00, it should spawn at 11:00 (+or- 3 sec). There is a program over at www.halo3timer.com which counts down weapon and power up spawns on your computer, and plays an audio file of the spawns at 30 seconds, 10 seconds, and spawn. VERY helpful to controll the match. Keep your speakers up and go to your TV. Start the program as the game starts, and you'll know when and where every powe weapon is. Here's what I do on High Ground for instance: Start in base, jump on mongoose, and race straight out front for rockets, time your dismount so you land right on rockets, grab them, and jump over hte barrier, jump and fire at the sniper spawn, if you did this right, your timing should be perfect, and your rocket will hit as they are picking up the sniper. Sometimes you'll be facing an uncoordinated group, and two people will race for the sniper. Double kill. Sometimes people will run towards the sniper but walk by and go for invisibility. Double Kill. It's a great strategy, and you'll end up behind your opponents with 2 or more rockets left. I then try to find a BR and an SMG (AR can be suitable in this situation as this map is more wide open.) I then proceed to hunt around the base/bunker, and then make my way down the side with the sniper/camo and hunt whoever is around there. Doing this, you are in the area of many potential targets. You also are around the spawns for Spartan Laser, Invisibility, Rockets, and Sniper, should they spawn. Know how to deal with tough situations. For instance, if you are on snowbound and one team is camping the shield with shotgun, grab some plasma grenades. Run towards the shield like you're comming in, then back away before you go in, the shotgun guy should think you are close enough to come out and shoot. Throw a sticky. You may die, but you'll get a kill as well, and take out their more strategic position. It's really good if you can have a friend come behind you to pick up the shotgun. In Lone Wolves, although it is really, really cheap: The way to win is to steal kills. Sorry, but it happens every match, and you'll find that the one who stays back with a BR and just headshots the two people going at eachother with no shields wins. Spam grenades in the more populated areas, such as the hammer spawn on Epitaph. That's all for now. I cant tell you ALL my secrets :D. And you need to find these by yourself, and adapt them to the way you play. Also, never get mad. If you get mad, you play more slopily and put yourself in harms way just to get 1 kill (such as rushing both opponents just for 1 kill...) Read the tips writen by famous MLG players, and watch MLG videos and learn where they setup, what weapon combos they use, etc. You'll become a better player. Please reply if you found any of this helpful, or if there is something else to add. -SHADOWSTRIKE1 P.S.- To those who have lost hope in leveling up, I received my 50 after I was WELL into Brigadier grade 2. So yes, even those of you with bars can level up. I wont boost you. I believe that everyone should earn it themselves. I'm just here to help, not carry you to 50. So take what I have shown you here, and show friends, and level up with them. I've decided to post some videos which I think people can learn from here. Just as I said before, if you watch MLG players, you'll learn their tactics and play better. •
Posted by: o I EMMeT I o you can do team doubles to get to the level 50 once you reached level 40
Yes. I always recommend playing Lone Wolves to gain some skill and get to the 42-46 range first, and then jumping into Team Doubles, as you will have developed good skills.
