Halo 2 Piracy
Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station.
Members of the Bungie community - we need your help. The Underground Army is being called into action; this is not a drill. Anyone who has information regarding the leak of the game or individuals or websites promoting the download of these illegal files is asked to please contact us by sending email to [b]piracy@microsoft.com[/b] or calling 1-800-RULEGIT. We also ask that you help us minimize the spoilers for those opting to wait for the retail release by refraining from posting screens, talking about the story and deleting any such posts you encounter. Many of you have already been actively tracking down and forwarding links to us and we thank you for your help.

Ok, Some information for all of you about the leaked copy, I didn't waste my time reading all 80 plus pages of outraged Halo 2 fans. First, the leaked copy is for the XBox, so anyone complaining about it being a PC release is incorrect. The leak requires a modded XBox and the knowhow to get it on to the XBox.. Second, the leaked copy is a pal version and it's in french... there are english subtitles on cut scenes but not with the live action. All the insturctions and objectives are in english tho. Again, this isn't the same as the version that will be released on the 9th. Imagine lame French voice overs... the horror. I can't wait to get my 2 real copies of Halo 2 on the 9th

This has probably been said lodsa times already, but i can't be bothered looking threw loadsa pages to see if anyone has already put what i'm putting here: For those of you who are wondering how you can download halo 2 and it to work on your xbox, i'll tell you. Your xbox needs to me chipped. this means that a special chip is put into your xbox, which lets you play imported games or backups - as far as i know, this is legal. But using the mod-chip to play illegal games that you have downloaded IS illegal (ofc). When people have downloaded the game, they simpily burn it onto a DVD-R, then put it in their xbox, and the mod-chip lets them play it. Also, I'm sure i saw it on www.shareconnecter.com afew days ago. But, taking share connector to court... hmmmmm... good idea but really, they havn't done anything. They don't actually hast the files so they're not really doing anything illegal. They just give you a link to the file, it's then upto the user if (s)he clicks it or not. And I think it's only the french version that's been leaked, unless an english version is out and i ahvn't heard about it. And cos it's french, no-one would want to d/l it cos they wouldn't be able to understand a word of it! Plus it would ruin the whole experience of waiting anciously for the November 9/11 release date :) I hope you catch whoever leaked it out and give them a whack... into jail. I'm waiting patiently for the release of it on the 11th here in the uk (my little brothers birthday :)). I'm not greedy and I don't want to goto prison either. I wouldn't even dream of getting it anyway in teh first place. I hope whoever did this will rot in prison, or get fined $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or £1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or €1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or whatever their currency is. Ouch. TARGET REPORT Please search the local markets, they might be selling them their. If so, take down as much information about the stock, the number plates of cars, and then phone the cops, make shore you ask for the under cover kind (undercovercops) the pirates are cowadly, but smart. they have look outs posted around looking for any cops. please note, half the time the people who run the market, are in on it too. I've seen it happen. as soon as the cops arive at the gate, the pirates get a phone call and they pack up real quick, and drive away. If you can, dubble park in front of their van so they can't escape. Even if their not selling halo or halo 2. Any pirate, given the chance will sell it if they could. PEOPLE OF THE UNDERGROUND Hear me say! If we Sting all pirates NOW we will have done our duty. If you are reading this, and you know somebody who is selling pirate CDs DVD, or Games, even if they are giving them away. they are EATTING out of somebodys pay. hjhhhhh

[/quote] People that have the mod XBOXs with the extra hard drive installed can play the game on their box. All they had to do was download the file(s), burn them from their computer onto a CD. Then insert the disk into the XBOX and download to the hard drive. It is the same concept for any game. They insert the disk and copy it to the hard drive. A buddy of mine has a mod XBOX that received a copy of the pirated halo 2 game and put it on his hard drive. After I told him how much trouble he could get into, he promptly erased it from his XBOX and said he could wait another 3 weeks. I patted him on the back. You're welcome Bungie. Keep up the good work! If you are interested in moding your XBOX, there are plenty of website available to view how to do this. Emulators can also be installed to the hard drive to enable the playing of Atari games and the like. - ToXiC

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I'm not angry about Halo 2 being leaked.......I seriously think that the story line is exactly the same as the first one. San Andreas hasn't been leaked yet and I don't know anyone who has or has downloaded the leaked Halo 2 but from what I have heard.....it truly sucks, I will definately be buying a PS2 for SA......Has anyone had a good look at the San Andreas trailers?? the Graphics are soooooooooooooooooooooooo much more superior to Halo and Halo 2, the Halo 2 trailer that I have seen so far, the graphics are patchy and non textured properly, hey Bungie can't even make the Master Cheifs helmet visor make reflections of things in front of him. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut good bloody luck in finding this guy, I think that from what I have heard from forums etc etc that you will be very very very dissappointed. wtf? does this dumbass know wat hes talkin about? halo will alone always own pos2 in graphics and as for halo 2 i doubt anything on pos3 will have close to as good as graphics as halo 2 and y would somebody care as to wat they see on master chiefs visor? u wont be having staring contests or anything so just stfu and quit thinking that pos2 is better because it isnt and almost anybody will agree with me...besides ur noob ass, and as for bungie i hope u get these pirates, and to everybody else that thinks the pirated version is just the first level or some retardd -blam!- like that its the whole game in french and was not made in europe it was put on the net somewhere in cali, and ppl have been going to california to get the game to play on their very own modded boxes, well some ppl have been going there, but dont ask me ive found out all this stuff from other ppl and forums so if u read around then u can find out a lot about this if u want to know and u dont even have to go to different sites go to some groups in 7th column-payce everybody

I think this is Unbelievable!!!! Who ever has done such a thing to a great game shoould be in prison for LIFE or SHOT! People are ment to be trusted with such a 'precious game'. What does the person get out of it? Honestly... This has ruined it for not only Bungie but for the people that love Halo 2 and don't want see the game being released like it has been...
