Posted by: Heathen Kaizen Technically you could be a level 50 in Team Slayer and a level 1 in Lone Wolves if you hadn't played it yet. I've had the advantage and disadvantage of playing lower ranked people and higher ranked people due to this. I was a 36 in Lone Wolves and then started playing with friends more in Team Slayer, but I was a 10 there, but 36 for highest achieved skill. I think that something more should be done to even those games out. Maybe an average skill level or something that combines your highest skill with your current skill level on whatever matchmaking list you're playing on. Few more things: The lunging melee. I know and understand how it happens with the sword, but it's unacceptable for someone with an AR, Mauler, Needler, Plasma Pistol, etc. to lunge 10 feet and melee. It hasn't happened in such a way ever in a Halo game and that's because it's ridiculous.
Something definitely needs to be done to avoid situations like mine (with people having twice the skill level of other players). An average between the two would certainly be a good idea. At the very very least, the numbers should be kept seperate. You know, like saying "Highest Team skill achieved:46 Highest Lone Wolves skill achieved: 21 Current Team skill: 44 Current Lone Wolves skill: 21" If it was possible to only show one or the other depending on what playlist they're on(so only show team numbers if I click on their name while playing on the Teams playlist), that would be even better. And I definitely agree with the melee lunge thing. I thought it was just a fluke when someone did that to me-especially since when he did it, the plasma grenade I had clearly stuck to him fell off and exploded six feet behind him.
