Clan support is back! A short manual and 5 minutes work.
Guys, girls, in a way clan support is back, thanks to Xbox Live Programming and the latest update! By creating a free Silver account on Xbox Live (and a new Live ID) you are able to group members again, called clans!
What do you need to do to create a clan?
- Create a valid Live ID with your email account or sign up for a new one (http://accountservices.passport.net)
- Create a new gamertag as Clan name, for example THE BEST SNIPERS (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/myxbox/myprofile.htm)
- Activate the new gamertag and login on Xbox Live (http://www.xbox.com)
- When logged in, you can click on “View Friends” and add new members to the clan -list
If you want to use the gamertag (clan name) with your Xbox 360, you should create a new account in the Dashboard.
- First you need to make sure the Xbox 360 Live is connected to the internet.
- If you are signed in to a profile, sign out.
- Then go on the Xbox Live section in the dashboard to Join Xbox Live.
- Then press the A button twice and follow the steps on the screen.
- During the creation of your profile you will be asked to choose the membership type you want either Silver membership or Gold membership.
I recommend you to choose Silver membership if you don’t want to pay at all, it’s for free!
As for the first three Xbox 360 Live profiles you are eligible for 1 Free month Gold trial if you choose Silver membership. It will be upgraded automatically to Gold but only for 1 month free.
After this month you will be downgraded to Silver or you can extend your subscription either for 1 month, 3 month or 12 month using either a credit card (Visa card, Master card or American Express ) or a prepaid card.
Now you can team up as a clan, just like in the old days!
Clan functionality
- Clan invites made by the owner (Overlord)
- Clan invite requests made by member (add friends, or use of private messages or email)
- Clan member overview for all, including game play and online status
- Clan control by one person (or share passwords and Live ID)
- Use of symbols for ranking
- Make more friends and preferred members
- Optimized use of the message system for invites and announcements
- Able to have clan matches again, you can send mass invites
- Having the community feeling again
- An online clan members list (xbox.com)
- Not only for Halo 3 (sorry Bungie, but it’s true)
- and much more...
To know if an clan name is not a member name, you can come up with:
1) TPG (as Community name)
2) CROW (as clan name)
3) LV (as division)
Result: TPG CROW LV (uppercase to indentify clan names or add the text CLAN if you have space left).
Well, that’s all folks, cya online! Cheers!
TPG Woozy
Add on:
In your game or Dashboard, go to your friend list for the overview and select a friend. Pick his/ her Personal Information (second Tab) and click View Friends… but it can be a clan name too! Get it?
