There was a lot of hype for this movie, and some people have said they loved it. A lot of others are saying it's a total travesty and Ridley Scott needs to retire immediately.
So is it worth seeing? Are there any other overhyped movies I should or shouldn't avoid?

[/quote]Yes its set in the same universe of the Alien franchise but none of the characters or events tie in with Alien so no its not a prequel. [/quote] Well then its a spiritual successor or should I say precursor? The xenomorph was at the end, as well as the space jockey, that we now know as engineers, we saw throughout the movie.
