I absolutely hate it. If you have technical difficulties like your computer crashing and you have to reopen everything, you will probably take more than 5 minutes. There are also many glitches, and some of them break the game until you reopen it. There is no surrender option, so if you have a team full of AFKers you can't do anything about it, especially when there is no auto kick AFK or reporting AFK. You get banned for no good reason just for doing bad if all your team are full of elitists and dumb kids or trolls. Most of the time half the team just sits home at spawn because easy battle points.
In general this game is pretty mediocre. There are many lag issues as well. Customization is just unrealistic when it takes around 25 full length games just to level up, even without the trolls reporting you for no reason. There are also so many heroes. It isn't like TF2, with just 9 classes. I've got the game for 4 days now, and I've been "banned" for 2.5 of those days. Broken game is broken. There is also a slight balance issue in the game with the dragon always spawning on the Dire side of the map, giving the Dire a slight late game advantage.
ITT: Discuss DOTA 2.
Posted by: Hylebos ...There's no surrender option? Wow, that seems like an oversight.
You don't understand. This is a game with matches that can last for over an hour, not like the 5-15 minute matches of FPS games these days. This is why they put so strict rules on leavers in the first place: because if you leave then basically the other players in your team waste an hour of their time (because there is no joining mid-game either). But this also means that sometimes if you are losing and you just want to end the match you can't leave. People can also exploit that. If there is a team of very good players they can just defend to drag on the match indefinitely (which people actually do because you seem to earn more battle points the longer a match goes on).
