The Official and Only Halo 3 User-Created Gametypes/Maps Thread

In addition to our Files forums (located here), I'm creating a thread here on the Official Halo 3 Forum to serve as a catch-all for gametypes and map variants ONLY, that have been created by the community. The hope here is that this will be used as a resource and and archive of created games and map variants from the Community. This is NOT a place to discuss the quality of an author's work or offer suggestions, do that in the links the authors will provide for their gametype/map variants. This is ONLY for collecting the gametypes. Here's the format for posting, (I've bolded ONLY for the purpose of making the text stand out in this wall of text, please refrain from bolding in your posts) all posts in this thread that violate the post format will be deleted by the moderators. Rebound, a Re-imagination of Snowbound Designed with Symmetrical-arena style slayer play in mind, Rebound takes elements of Snowbound that previously turned the map into an interior camping battle, like the Shotgun, and awards both teams a Shotgun in their respective bases. Weapon sets have been made close to identical on both sides of Snowbound in an attempt to remove the tendency of players to crouch camp underneath. This map is ideal for 2-10 players. How to make these posts. 1. Create a gametype and map variant, upload these to your File Share. 2. Publish the Gametype and Map variants to the forums, save the links to those threads. 3. Create post in this thread, and link to the Map variant and Gametype at the Publish to Forums link here [this way players can easily click those links and download your gametypes. 4. Create a well-written explanation of changes made to the map and if necessary a description of the gametype you've created, including ideal number of players, number of teams (if necessary) and any other relevant information. Please write as clearly and coherently as possible. 5. Bungie will be watching this thread and using it as a resource for gametype creation from the community as well, all posts not relevant to the topic at hand will be removed and users potentially extinguished like torches in a monsoon. [Edited on 10.12.2007 1:55 PM PDT]

 • As a final shout-out to Forge, Soteg6842 and I (DiJaDi) decided to make a couple last-minute additions to the terrific line-up of maps provided by the Halo 3 community. C A S T L E by Soteg6842: Castle is a map on Foundry featuring two symmetrical sides, and one symmetrical close-quarters building separating the two areas. Both bases consist of a fully-stocked armory; one strategically-placed chaingun turret; and a wide, spacious 'fragzone' ideal for ranged combat. The carefully-designed structure between the bases adds an already-anticipated need for close-combat weapons, as well as diversifying the gameplay significantly and preventing it from ever growing stale. Simple in its design, this map completely supports any two-team gametype, and once again proves that complicity is overrated. F O R T R E S S by DiJaDi: A tangent from Soteg's map, Fortress takes everything that Castle is and complicates it. Adding a maze-like element of walls and barriers, it transforms the open fragzone into an obstacle course built for strategic assaults. Additional turrets, stairs up either side for overhead defensive snipers, and the removal of the gravlifts that used to inhabit what still remains a devastatingly close-quarters structure make this into a much longer game with an italicized emphasis on defense. Just as is the case with Castle, Fortress was designed for 2-team gametypes of 4-16 players.
