Way Beyond the Beta: Screenshots Galore
Months ago, media mens came to the Bungie headquarters to get some new scoops in the wake of the Halo 3 Public Beta. They saw some new maps, now you can see them, as well.

Well It could just be like the option like in Halo2 to have elite or spartan armor! but after you chose whether to have spartan armor you could choose the variant!

OK did enybody see in the image and the text didnt compare. Ok the text said that there is 2 armor CQB and the other one but there was 3 diff armors in there look all the way at the far right guy he has a diff armor then the guy in the main image is in the other armor but there is also the regular armor in the back of image so is there more than 2 armors?

My thoughts. Graphics: Nice, unlike the campaign screenie I can actually see the reflection in the visor; though this is likely more do to thier actually being something around for the visor to reflect unlike in the campaign shot. Lookin good , bungie, keep it up! Brute Chopper: I really hope it's a to wheelled motorcycle of death since that would fit the brutes, given their big biker influence and all and of course the name "chopper". However I think it's more likely it hovers to fit the covie tech. Spartans: As most have already said, there are several surviving Spartan IIs and even some Spartan IIIs, however to not ruin the plot for those who haven't read the books I'll say no more. Armor Permutations: Quite simply, ROCK, though, the one I assume is the CQB helmet (dude with shotgun) looks stupid in my opinon. Functional in regards to the wider field of view logic but still dumb looking. However dumb looks don't stop 8gauge buckshot from tearing you face off. I personally would like to see some like, skinny stripped down sniper or scout armor, or even the SPI armor from Onyx (armor of the Ninjanaught perhaps?). Though, in honesty I am more interesting in seeing new Elite armors, as well as the hope that bungie fixxes the headbox for the Elite in H3 (assuming they are available in multi). Armor Advantages: Unlikely in my opinion. Most likely it'll only be cosmetic changes. [Edited on 07.06.2007 3:41 PM PDT]

OMG this is the greatest unveiling yet..... u can Have 3 types of spartans The Eites Not to mention all the color variatints... the new wehicle is cool but i think its gonna b a new glorified banshee that can stay in the air in 1 spot. first of all, the armor looks silly, and second, please don't make them have actual advantages or dissadvantages. i don't wanna lose a close quarters fight just because i'm a vehicle bot and the other guy is a close quarter bot. oh, and schnieder, there are, there are a few spartans still alive including mc's alleged girlfriend kelly! I think it's great that Bungie is adding the armor variants to the game that were developed in the continuing Spartan program mentioned in the novels.

I dont get y bungie doesnt just stick to the symbols. They were the best way to show who someone is. All of this spartan cosmtic -blam!- is messing up halo as a whole. THEY DONT EVEN LOOK LIKE SPARTANS. It works for other gams but not halo

those were some wicked pics and i can't wait till halo 3 comes out. BTW i think that armour variants can be unlocked through campaign because not every1 has a live account.

Has anyone noticed the torso and arm varients as well, there are at least two different torso's, one with a hunting knife on the front and one with two grey circles. Also there are different arms, these arm varients and chest varients are on all the spartans, even ones with normal helmets, take a look.

actually i doubt it, not everyone has live, they probably want everyone a chance at these new armors. Its prob. campaign unlocks..... maybe acheivment rewards...say you beat the game on legendary.. you get some new armor
