yeah if it was not for all the stupid ppl with and old xbox who wont up grade complaing that they wont up grade, then we would not be in this problem, if you dont have a 360 ur prb not going to get halo 3, so your prob not a very big halo fan, thus you dont need the new maps, shame on you! p.s. has any one found a solution to the "installation failed" mesage, like bungie was saying the payment is for ur xbox not ur GT, so that if the payment stuffs up or sumthing like that then you have to try on a differnt xbox! unless they use MP, or another patch

[/quote] one problem. all of our problems are on a 360. all because of the stupid xbox players had to !blam! about not being able to play them so bungie had to rearrange everything and make us have to go through all this trouble.

So let me get this straight..... bungie completely ignored this forum and just realeased a new top story on how much fun they have been having in the new maps. Wow.......... i feel appreciated....... i'm glad Bungie isnt my electric company or worse my clinic. I'd be out of power and dead before i'd get any answers from them. lol

Ok so these maps was supose to be part of the anti-cheat thing right. Right now I'm disappointed I joined some guy's game on my friends account on Xbl, and they was modding the new maps already. Modders have this program that lets them protect their modded maps and prevents other people from editing, maybe you guys should use the program to lock the maps up, then release another patch

As you all know Certain Affinity made the maps Tombstone and Desolation , I really believe that they gave us a huge glimps of how the glass shields from halo 3 work. Now you all know that That Tombstone has two invisible walls so get in the game an experience the Shield. im glad to say i am the 2nd person in the WORLD to be able to get outside of the new maps THANK GOD for modders i only have 2 but my friend that became one took the kill line off and after he got out he told me about it after i asked him to take them off and i was able to get on ANYTHING outside of tombstone its not much of a special thing but getting on top of the ruins is fun to do you need 2 people that can sword cancel to get on top of them or a butterflier to get on top of the buildings or if you mess up i recommed useing rocket cancelling if your able to get your modder to remove the kill line.

when i first read about the maps i tried to buy them. the only problem is that i didnt have a credit card on my account. then i selected purchased. it said that the installation failed. i finally put a credit card on and it still said installation failed. it says purchased on the maps even though i didnt purchase them. i checked my memory and nothing was about blastacular maps. i dont know what to do. SUPPORT WONT HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!! DAMN!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to someone's post earlier, I went into content download to see if I was missing any maps (besides the new ones) and sure enough, I was. It's saying that I don't already have the Maptacular Pack anymore and that is probably why, after my attempt at downloading the new maps, I can't play any other games but Hardcore. I had them before!! I'm not sure why this happened but it sucks. :( Of course this all had to happen after I quit my job and wanted to bum around all day playing Halo 2. edit: I'm going to see if my expansion pack disc will do anything. Sigh. Edit: SUCCESS!! I couldn't find the expansion pack so I just tried to download Maptacular again and it worked! Now I can go back to playing the maps that I have been. Can't believe I'm excited about something I already had but it was scary to lose it. :( I won't be attempting to download the new maps until I know it is safe now! I downloaded the maps fine, then deleted them by accident... I know stupid. Anyway, i got the installaton failed message too; but i have hopefully found a way around it: 1) Go to the xbox 360 dashboard and sign into live there. 2) Load Halo 2, which will then ask for u to sign in again, sign in then select xbox live. 3) Select download content, and select the blastacular map pack... Hopefully it will work for you all =D as its worked for me :-)

Its a new Xbox Live Profile Account I had to pay the 7.99 for a month but still it got it working so I didnt realy care.

I totaly agree with said above. Also why would you remove your pre-order off of one of the most hyped up games this fall is gonna see...my god you are an Idiot what are you gonna do pick your nose all winter long ? or what play halo 2 on the maps you dont have ? Seriously ! Now I'll say it again... I had to get another xbox live profile...one of the one day subscriptions and that worked just fine... What it seems to be is that if your profile came from your original xbox to the 360 there is a glitch where you cant change the status of your account for old xbox games only new ones. So simply put that if you wanted to download the maps now but back when you first got your account and you said no premium content...well if you've migrated your account well tough titty your stuck with no premium content for old games...since they probably figured there wouldnt be any content for old games anyways . There I hoped this helped !

Alright, this is what worked for me. I didn't read all 31 pages, so I don't know if this solution has already been posted. After getting the failed installation message about 30 times, switching cables, etc. I went into my hard drive (360) and deleted the incomplete download listed under halo 2. Tried downloading it again and it worked. *shrug* maybe this will help someone else out there.

i called support and a guy was gonna help me delete the partial download to start it over but i got disconnected so i called back my wait was only a few minutes both times and the secon guy was a fast talking doofus who said "halo 2 has informed us of this you will not be actualy charged for the maps untill your xbox confirms a complete download" i asked him why is that he says its to stop their system from charging people twice edit i wonder if you can copy the maps to a memmory card and move them to other consoles like that then sign in an poof [Edited on 04.20.2007 8:20 AM PDT]

I get the "Premium Content not allowed" ERROR. Tried numerous times. Downlaoded the recent updates, checked all my settings, even added another CC to my account. Checked all family settings, and account settings on the 360 and XBOX.com. (No help in those forums either) BTW...I tried to set up another account and spent 30 minutes trying to create a new hotmail login....forget IT, I choose about 15 new email names and EVERYTHING IS TAKEN!!! Even the most ridiculous attempts.....!!!!! Very frustrating! Tried to call XBOX, and waited for 30 minutes on hold. I give up until I hear of a fix.

I never got the maps, but to help you with thte update thingy, I just restarted my 360, went to the 360 Dashboard, and then started up Halo2. It only made me do the update once then. So go to the dasboard, and then go into halo2. idk y, but this worked for me. BUT I STILL CANT GET THE GODDAMN MAPS BUNGIE. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I have the purchased but cant install error.

*sigh* These maps are going to get boring real quick without being able to get outside the map.

I'm sure they can at least provide some helpful suggestions however. As per the credit card problem, try deleting the credit card from your xbox or xbox 360 and completely re-entering it. And, make sure that it's valid to have a $4.00 charge put on it. If your map fails downloading, you should make sure that you have free bandwidth to download from--especially if you're running on slow connections like DSL. Both me and my friend run 5mbps cable connections, and we both have opposite versions of xbox/360. A major problem might be filesharing programs--they eat up bandwidth like it's nobody's business. Also make sure that your box has a nice connection to your home network, with no potential shorts in the Ethernet cable. If on wireless, make sure theres a strong signal between the router and your box. A good suggestion would be to make sure your box is in the same room as your wireless router. And, another good idea is to make sure you try and download it during the low points of the day, such as early in the morning or during the weekdays, when the servers aren't maxed out. This is completely unacceptable. What kind of organization genicides most of their fan base? If the maps were not ready to come out they shouldn't have. I for one think this is going to reflect on all their other projects. I took my reserve off of halo 3 along with my other 2 friends.
