That should just effect the speed of the download. I get the stupid message saying that it couldnt install, WHAT DO I DO?! I received a message saying i purchased them but the didnt install.

Does anyone think that if you have a poor connection to XBox Live, that you would have less a chance to download the maps?

[/quote] im getting the same error. when i click to download the maps. it goes from start to finish very fast. then i get an error that says something like failed to purchase. your credit card wont be credited for this transaction. please try again later...3 days later. same thing. any help?

Currently I am attempting to download the new maps which guys at bungie have generously produced. But I am having some problems (like many other people) and Im hoping that there are other people who have encountered the same problem as I have. I own a 360, I have filled in the relevant bank details and it has allowed me to purchase the new maps. But, it is not allowing me to install the content on to my 360. After recieving this messege, I back out of the 'Content download' screen to return to Halo 2 and my 360 freezes up while trying to reboot Halo 2. I have checkd my disc and I even stole my sisters disc to make sure that it was not my disc that was the problem. I have also tried re-downloading the old map packages, such as the; Bonus Map Pack and the Maptacular Pack. Just to ensure that there was no problems downloading the content to my 360. To be honest, I feel I have tried everything from my end and to be quite frank, I am a little baffled. Now I hope this is a problem that other people have had, instead of this problem being restricted to my console. Coz this will be the third 360 to screw up on me and it is becoming very tiresome. Thanx for your help so far.

Here is the thing.....I have wasted so much time on this. Paid for something I can't download on a 360 yet within 15 minutes I could download the maps and an installer from an alternative site and be up an running on an original xbox in no time. Not that this really was of interest to me because the old xbox is in another room and is now used solely as a media centre. I just wanted to see what the fuss is about and what I should be expecting on my 360....at some time....maybe......?????? Why have you people at Bungie made this download so hard yet hackers can get it up an running and globally distributed in hours? I have no problem paying for the maps and you had no problem taking the payment so why couldn't you just make the download happen easily enough??? Seriously guys this really is a poor reflection on you. Sadly the whole M$ influence is shining through. I am starting to get really worried about Halo 3....apart from all the obvious attributes a good game needs, it is underpinned by attention to detail, serious quality control and testing and given this is the only thing you have put out in two years and you have made such a mess of it then we should all be getting nervous. Oh and before all the whining starts about its not Bungies fault then remember they launched it, they hosted it and they are distributing it and given they dont quite know how to make it work on a xbox original or 360 without this much hassle, they need to take ownership for this poor performance. Of course the lack of any form of reply from anyone in >30 pages pretty much sums it up......who cares at Bungie........anyone??????????? .....Of course not....... [Edited on 04.21.2007 4:51 AM PDT]

I think its kinda wrong to wipe the ranks then tell me I have to pay for the maps to play ranked again. I mean come on the last time we got new maps they were free unless you bought the discs! Whats diffrent this time. Its a buncha bull, hell even some of the unranked playlists cant be played without these 2 maps.

hey guys who are getting the premium content not enabled problem, if you registered with xbox.com and only have a regular xbox you are now viewed as having a 360 which yes is a pain,i had the same problem as i have only an original box but i ust got a new account and downloaded the maps fine and then reregistered with xbox.com.....hope this helps

Installation failed for me also with a 360 and a gold account associated with a credit card with correct billing info. Oh let me add that they did manage to charge my cc. [Edited on 04.20.2007 4:59 PM PDT]

My suggestion just wait and keep trying. It has to eventually work.

As long as he doesn't go on Live with his mods, it's fine for the most part. A modder I once knew is helping in the halo 2 vista design. NiTrOuSoXiDe.

Downloading these maps is turning into a complete waste of my time. And why do I get the feeling that Bungie is completely ignoring every user with a problem downloading the maps. WTG Bungie, you screwed up, and your not even helping with the issues. I love Halo, and Halo 2, and I used to love Bungie, before they ignored everybody. [Edited on 04.20.2007 2:53 PM PDT]

I have an original Xbox and all it says is instillation failed. I tried downloading it a bunch of times, diffrent accounts. I deleted all the maps redownloaded them all and still nothing works... and NOT a thing from bungie

yeah if it was not for all the stupid ppl with and old xbox who wont up grade complaing that they wont up grade, then we would not be in this problem, if you dont have a 360 ur prb not going to get halo 3, so your prob not a very big halo fan, thus you dont need the new maps, shame on you! p.s. has any one found a solution to the "installation failed" mesage, like bungie was saying the payment is for ur xbox not ur GT, so that if the payment stuffs up or sumthing like that then you have to try on a differnt xbox! unless they use MP, or another patch
