Bungie Weekly Update
Most of the [i]cool [/i]info was revealed on Tuesday in the Multiplayer Vidoc, but here's some stuff on matchmaking and more.

I hate BTB Slayer.[/quote] it's unranked. playing it unranked means we will have the same problems that we have in BTB slayer where everyone quits. I dont want to play BTB SKIRMISH with some guy and his three guest so they can quit when they get killed 2 times in a row. when its ranked is where all the glory is when you are with your friends. unranked has no purpose. no one will care if you win or loose or try to get better at it. it makes those late night halo games go away.

*Sigh* I will miss BTB. I am hoping that come monday Bungie will see the community is upset and re-think their playlist update.

I was pumped for all the changes until i saw you're unranking btb skirmish. All the ranked playlists are so similar why take out the the ones that differ. I can understand rumble pit...it is a really bad playlist, you guys really screwed that one up. BTB Skirmish is the only different playlist, the reason there are less games is becuase it takes longer to match up because there are more people. Now there is ranked team skirmish and ranked team hardcore...which are pretty much the same cept one has radar and a few different gametypes. I say drop snipers, there are too many playlists that are just for killing or make it unranked. There is Team Slayer which is enough to cover snipers. All the ranked playlists cept double team are 4v4, that is rediculous there should be variety. Even double team is just a different version of slayer! BTB Skirmish should be ranked it is a classic playlist along with slayer, skirmish. If you want more games then make changes so it is easier to match up, and make it 5-8 players a team instead of 6-8. PLEASE KEEP BTB SKIRMISH.....I REALLY DONT SEE A NEED TO PLAY ANYMORE IF IT IS GONE, ALONG WITH A LOT OF MY FRIENDS.

Even though I'm extremely opposed to them doing it, I can understand why they're removing BTB Skirm. But... I can't even begin to comprehend why they're making Rumble Pit unranked! Everyone plays it and the games start about as fast as Team Snipes does. Not to mention that you almost [i] never [/i] get cheated in it. Sry Bungie, but I'm pissed off. There's no logic behind this.

Yha the trip mine should be able to stick to things, however that might get too powerfull, but it's a cool idea. I wonder what other things we will be able to deploy with the X button beside the trip-mine and bubble shield? One of those deployable things could be someting comprable to active camoflage. The way I see it Over shield=bubble shield, and so naturally Active camo-blam!-e=? I like the way Bungie has made the "power-ups" more believable and intagrated into gameplay, smart move. Why is the bubble shield so ugly and large? (ie, why is it not like in the trailer, where is was small and cool looking.) And the trip mine should be smaller and more stealthy so that its only purpose won't be just to blow up a warthog as it tries to run you over. It should also be able to stick to walls so if you place it in a corridor, it will do a lot of damage.

i'm a bit peeved that you need a credit card to buy the new maps for Halo 2 especially because i don't have access to a credit card or one of those VISA gift cards (as i can't seem to find any banks in Northern Ireland where i can purchase one) and if i dont get the new maps, i won't be able to use matchmaking to its full potential. i know that you can't download the maps through the marketplace on the 360 for one reason or another but is there any reason why we can't pay for them through it and then download them through Halo 2. we could purchase them using Microsoft points and then they give us a code which we can simply go into Halo 2, type in the code that we have been given and then download the maps. XBOX users will still have to pay using a credit card or gift card but it makes the whole process easier for the dedicated halo fans who have 360s and are awaiting the Halo 3 BETA. Does any one else agree?

After viewing the Vidoc you guys released and then reading an aritcle about every detail that could be viewed or that you guys allowed to be viewed, I come across a paragraph saying something that will seem to be your downfall. This is exactly what I read... No matter how many updates you guys do to Halo 2, it will never be better than the original Halo. Halo 1 was evenly balanced in spawns and many other things...Halo 2 is a complete mess and a complete failure. Yeah its good but it will never beat Halo 1 in my opinion. If anything I would say forget about Halo 2...try to make the gameplay feel more like the original while making those updates but of course make the graphics better. Hey did any one else notice the screen on the comp moniter behind Lars at 2:40? I'm pretty sure it says Warthog Inc. with the game type escort. Odd... wonder what thats gonna be like. Any way its a bummer they are removing BTB slayer and BTB skirmish and merging them into one again.*Sigh* Also the fact that rumble training is gone just adds to the grief. RT was there for people who just wanted a fun FFA that didn't affect thier rank. well, this does kinda suck because we don't get to play BTB Skirmish and then theirs the good side where we get the new maps. I've played well over 500 BTB Skirmishs. then it comes to an abrubt end as BUNGIE takes it off

it says nothing in the update about usage problems for btb skirm this is bs im on here 1 profile or another everyday or every other day and there is always 40 to 60 thousand people on mid afternoon and night. we always find btb games from levels 30 to 43 and these are legit players arranging mm games for comptition removing btb is horrible max players on a game is a reason many people buy xbl games to play and make friends with as many people with the same hobby they have. I love h2 like many others but to discriminate against 8v8 players and have the only ranked games be 4v4 is blam- retarded i dont get it. Can we have at the very least some reasoning for taking it off or some sign of hope for the playlist there is a ton of support for it with over a thousand posts and 10 - 15 threads it doesnt need a chance it needs to be refreshed or just left alone. try taking all the 4v4 gametypes and making 4 ranked 8v8 gametypes and you will get similar reactions. blam- 4v4

And so what if they done have the **ONE GAMETYPE YOU PLAY!!!** man do you guys sound like little girls. Would you rather them be focusing on the old or the new? bro I LOVE you that long comment you posted said it all.... So listen up BUNGIE. You can change what ever you want. But when it screws up the very thing that we come on halo to do you have gone to far. First you took off clan matches, yeah I understood why you took it off, but BRING IT BACK.. we all want it back . My clan has been holding custom clan matches for almost a year now.. Everyone wants it back. and second BTB is the one and only ranked game every can play as a large group. And you are taking it away. why? Because when the beta comes out to many people are going to be playing that instead of halo2? what ever.. You keep taking off the matchmaking games every one loves why because you dont like them? sorry it might be YOUR GAME but it is the gamers that made it a hit NOT YOU.. The fact the we get on to play with are friend from all over. And use this game that we love should say somthing to you. But maybe you forgot to listen. I am sorry if I am coming off as a jerk . But you are killing the game that millions of us have come to love. And the game that thousands of us have been playing every week for 2 years now.
