Bungie Weekly Update
This week, news about Matchmaking, rank resets, Cinematics and...drum roll...the evolution of Fusion Cores! Are you not entertained!?

I didn't worked so hard for my level so that it could just be erased , trust me if you reset the stats a lot of players are going to stop playing halo 2 because they also worked very hard as well.

Ok with the ranks resetting, then will the player stats reset as well such as: kills,deaths,assists,kill/death ratio?

After the auto update I'm having trouble with both of my xbox's connecting at my house. Even when playing a custom game my sons and friends were unable to connect via the same network. I rebooted my Router which I've had for the last couple of years and have updated all of the Firmware on as well. Rebooted both Xbox360s and still they were unable to join my party or my custom game. Not until after I had rebooted everything three times was the other group able to connect. We have played this way for at least the last year. Is this going to be an issue with WANs or is something that will correct with time and caching? Just about any input will help thanks.

Yea i Know Thnk OYu Phobia at least some1 feels me so -blam!- bungie said they werent going to reset the stats anymore the last tie they reset it and look what they do they reset it casue They All Suck Big -blam!-.

this is something i have to agree on with MaNnYFrEsHz BaK. i know that its good getting all the ranks down because of the cheaters but i dont want my ranks to go. does this mean that me being an average player is now never going to win a game for a while untill the legit 35+ ppl get to a high enough level as so not to be matched with me. with all the cheating that went on i was only able to get the highest rank of 28 in snipers which i know may not seem like a massive rank but it was hard fought against ppl who did cheat and i would like to keep all my ranks for all the playlist no matter how big or small they were. Well it would seem as though I need to work my way back up to level 24. I did it before, and I'll do it again. At least I have the skills to not need to cheat, mod, hack, bridge, standby, n00b, lag, or anything else some of you other, unskilled, guys may need to do to regain their levels. By doing that, you are proving that all you ever do is sit around thinking of some way boost your leveI through cheatz and ha3x. I have better things to do than ruin someone else's Halo experience. I hope that a lot of you will also play fair when regaining your level, the game is much better that way. Remember: 1337 haxz0rz= b4nn3d haxz0rz. And could someone please fix those pesky superjump and BXR glitches?!

Yes i agree this is a sweet update and i think the reseting of the ranks is a good idea because all those people who got their ranks modded up will be reset back to one and will have to learn how to really play the game and use some real skill to get their levels. Modders and anybody who cheats by messing with the connection just make halo less enjoyable and make having a high level less impressive. I know they wont be able to stop people who standby and bridge to get their levels back after the update but if they really want to make themselves look unskilled enough to have to cheat to get their levels I guess they will. Also I'll be happy to pay 4 bucks for the new maps. 4 dollars is no big deal and it is worth it because they have been putting a lot of work into it and should be rewarded. The last map update was 6 dollars if i remember right so whats the big deal. [Edited on 04.11.2007 6:57 PM PDT]

Wow. This cheating thing better work or I am never playing halo 2 again. I have busted my butt to get over a 30 in every gametype and I love the fact that I have a legit 40 in slayer and a 36 in big team battle. If I get online and all my stats are back to 1 and I get cheated in more then one game a week then I am done. Im not going to give up all my ranks and stats that I have busted my butt for, for no reason. I would say that if getting our ranks back to 1 gets all the cheating to go away then fine, beacause then I can get all my ranks back easy and maybe even higher. I just hope to God it works for your sake because I know a lot of people that will just stop playing the game if it doesn't. x4Fx AJ

aw, we have to pay 4 bucks! its not the money that matters to me but that i dont own the credit card and cant buy in a shop or something. I'd be nice if they did something like with the other map pack for people who cant buy stuff on the marketplace, etc

nazty, i agree with that statement, i would also like it if they brought head to head back. and maybe come out with some dedicated servers so that no one can cheat. dedicated servers is a simple fix for cheaters that manipulate network connection. i just dont think bungie realizes this yet.

in doing rank resets, bungie isd promoting cheating mroe then getting rid of cheating. plus what about all the lvl 35+ facing lvl 20s and such? this is going to be havok. i can only imagine how many cheaters are going to bridging and such at lvl 1. its going to be rediculous.

i dont know why bungie wants to re start with halo2 level... anyway its just matter of time for cheaters to get their moons and halo´s again... as for me... any way if they put into matchmakin new playlist they should take a look into MLG rules and make them. FFA would be amazing to have it back ( rumble hardcore ) and please stop using elongation in halo2 matchmakin hahaha it sucks i know maybe some spelling is wrong, not too good english... sorry about that :) Gt- xTGIx LeChEs PLAY FOR FUN, NOT RANK add me for ffa :)
