The higher ranking you are, the more people depend on you and the more pressure there is. John, the single greatest Hero of Humanity, is a natural-born leader who's gone to Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, Limbo (and any other Plains of Existence) and back. There's just no beating that. The only other solution besides breaking down and worshiping him as a god (which is against protocol and humility) is to level with him. Sarcasm is one way to do it.
