I am stumped. Music that defined the generation.
It has to be popular and mainstream...not a great album that only you and your dad know about....
For 1990's album or music that defined the generation....I would say Nevermind by Nirvana.
And for 2000's I just don't know.
Remember guys these have to be like, flawless albums, that are generally liked by anyone.
For 2000 to 2009 I will submit American Idiot for Rock, and Late Registration for rap (Kanye West)

In previous eras, our exposure to music was quite limited. Nowadays, new music is produced in greater quantities than ever before, and we have access to most of the music of the past. There is no defining music of the decade in the era of the internet.
