It's the question that's been dwelling in my mind for some time now. I came up with an answer for myself, but I wanted to know everybody else's.
So, what do you think? What made the past Halo games fun?
ready. go.

Replay value, explorability, fun. I for one played Halo 2 for years with no live, and just had fun exploring everything in the campaign. I found half of the skulls by myself, managed to jump around the maps by myself, and all around had an epic time. Now it's all "Return to battlefield" every time I walk ten feet out of map. I remember in Halo 2 they WANTED us to explore, placing various things so far out of the normal map it was hilarious. Custom games were immensely fun, and added a lot of replay value, and maps were so much better. Halo 4 just doesn't have the right feel to it.
