This is something that has bothered me for a while, so maybe someone more versed in Halo canon has the answer. At the end of Halo:CE, you destroy Installation 04 by overloading the reactors on the crashed Pillar of Autumn. After escaping on the fighter, Cortana does a scan and declares there are no human life signs remaining.
Yet, somehow Johnson survives. How? If he was evacuated by Echo 419 at some point, to where?

Well you can forget about Halo 4 being the first game to require you to read a novel to understand an important plot point![/i][/quote] You dont need to read anything, the game tells you that he got out somehow but it cannot being discussed at the moment. The game acknowledges that something happen and if you want to know more go read a book. That's totally different from Halo 4 just leaving stuff out completely and ignoring it. BTW, Johnson is hardly an important plot point. [Edited on 01.07.2013 3:07 PM PST]
