My Tips To Reach Onyx! (Episode 1)

Hello, and welcome to "My Tips To Reach Onyx!" Some of you may remember me from my very successful thread, My Tips To Reach 50!. Since that thread/video series had such a large following, I decided to bring it over to the next chapter in Halo. Thus, I bring you my next series, My Tips to Reach Onyx (Get it? REACH Onyx? Halo: REACH? You see what I did there?) I've been poking around in the early access beta and finding tips and tricks to pass on to you. The first video in my series is titled "Welcome To Reach!". It can be viewed here- My Tips To Reach Onyx! Episode 1: Welcome To Reach! There are many new features in Halo: Reach, and I plan on filling you guys in on anything I find out. Keep an eye on this thread as I will continue to update it. Save the thread if you wish. Strategies

1-Flag Powerhouse- As you will discover, defenders will spawn in the Powerhouse where the flag is located. Attackers will spawn at the beach. Difference in distance will allow Defenders the chance to grab Rockets first, while Attackers will be able to reach the Hammer and Shotgun first. The Focus Rifle and Grenade Launcher are about equal distance. When the flag is picked up, Defenders will begin to spawn in the Yard. Your first instinct is to run the flag through the opening to the Yard since it is closer to your capture point. Unless your team has control of Rockets, I would advise against this. Instead, go out to the bridge and drop down into the Spillway and make you way through the water to your flag capture point. This will provide you will walls for cover, as well as putting some distance between yourself and the enemy spawn. 1-Flag Sword Base- At the beginning of the match, your team should drop down right onto the ramp going into the flag room. Toss grenades immediately to the doorway behind the air lift as soon as you hit the ground so that you can either hurt or kill the defenders coming through the door. Once you have the flag, I would suggest running the flag to the grav lift in the middle of the map and lifting up to the room right below the flag capture point. This way, you dont need to spend half the game running along the catwalks and allowing your enemies to kill you and set up defensive points inside. Once your flag is in that room below the capture point, you are in cover, and the enemy will not be able to reach you unless they have jetpacks. The walk is simply to far. Be sure to have 1 or 2 players rush the Sniper at the beginning of the match to ensure it is in your hands. It is absolutely dominant on this map. Defenders, try to grab the sniper at the beginning, and then hold it behind the air lift in the flag room. From this angle, you'll be able to shoot into the Attacker's spawn, and stop any advancements to your flag. Oddball Powerhouse- A good strategy is to hold the ball in the Bathroom near the Grenade Launcher spawn. This will make is so that there are only two primary entrances, and the stairs. All of which are in close proximity to you so you can be within melee distance. The upstairs will have constant fighting as players can enter through through more easily. •
Posted by: SGT Pretender Yup, I figured out that the bathroom area is the best place to hold the oddball. Keeping the pro pipe hand is nice too, instant kill close range. BTW, I liked your controller thumbsticks video, but do you know anything about these?
I haven't tried those out myself, but I tried similar ones which were sort of like a "cradle for your thumb" which were kinda goofy. I could see these helping, but the higher joystick would definitely have to be something to get used to. Also, the video is now up and ready to be viewed.
