Halo 3 Beta Update
In light of the recent Microsoft press release, we give you some more details on how to ensure your participation in the upcoming Halo 3 Beta program, and a few more tidbits about how we plan to take care of the Bungie faithful.

So buying a copy of Crackdown guarantees access to the beta? I thought it was only 'specially marked' copies. Well that's cool. I was looking forward to buying Crackdown anyway.

So is it three hours of Halo 2 or three games of Halo 2 ? Your story and the press release from Microsoft differ. :/ And is it every copy of Crackdown a guaranteed entry or "specially marked boxes" because , once again , both articles say different. :/ [Edited on 1/3/2007]

I register for halo3.com when it was open, so after the 3 hours of game play or 3 games on that date, can I go register again after I already register once?

Yea, 3 hours sounds about right. It will fill up at 3:01 that same night I bet.

In the release it reads "at least three hours of “Halo 2” multiplayer sessions", but in your write up it reads "you have to play three games on Xbox Live". You should change that Frankie. ;-)

Do any of these methods seem odd to anyone else, or am I just unfamiliar with Beta test selection methods? What does Crackdown have to do with Halo 3? Cross-marketing, perhaps?

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the Beta. I hope that my community of adult gamers [url]http://www.vgrefugees.com[/url] is chosen to participate in the alpha/pre-beta release. I have a question about the games you have to play in option 2. Am I correct in assuming that the games played will have to be ranked or at least matchmaking? Thank you again. Interesting, thank you for the update Frankie. I know there was a rumor circulating awhile back about Crackdown, but now it has been confirmed. Hopefully I can meet all of you in the beta.

Gotta say, I hope people from the UK and the rest of Europe don't get forgotten and get plenty of chances too. My heart skipped a beat when it said the window for enlisting had closed... I wish there was more info than "check back later" for European gamers. I need to know who I have to kill to play this game ^_^

Thanks for the heads-up Frankie! When February rolls around, we will all be havin a blast on Live. For now, we all have to sit around like 3rd graders waiting for the school bell to go out for summer vacation.

will the crackdown offer be to all copies of crackdown or a select few and if it is either DOES THAT APPLY TO THE UK! WE NEED INFOMATION! WHY DOES THE USA ALWAYS TAKE PRIORITY IN THESE THINGS! AGHHHHHH!
