Hi-res Halo 3 Screenshots on Bnet

People buy it because it's good gameplay (sorry, I mean [b]best[/b] gameplay ;), Halo 2 didn't have very good graphics, not even compared to games at the time it was released. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't in the very top either. And it still beats the living daylights out of anything Sony or anyone else comes up with. [Edited on 12/12/2006]

I agree. The screenshots which seem to be from a Slayer match look very Halo 2, not Halo 3. The graphics does not look that great. Gears of War has better graphics than these screenshots. When Halo 3 comes out, the in-game graphics better be much, much, much MUCH better because playstation 3 games out soon will kill it.

I know the screenshots are in Hi-res but will the actual game have the same graphics quality that we see on the computer? because computer screens show better picture quality than TV screens (most of the time).

Love the shots! Just one thing has been bugging me... The 9th screen shot on the page looks like a Halo 2 screen shot. The Spartan with the Spartan Laser seems to have armor from Halo 2. Or at least his wrist guard looks different. It seems to have the 5 circles and is more cubic in shape. Where as the Halo 3 spartans have 3 circles and appears to be more triangular. I'm probably wrong, just thought I'd see if anyone else cought this. Thanks R

Yes, but the pixels are worse on Pc, on the widescreen, hopfully it will look way better.

You all have to keep in mind that the graphics are mostly placeholders, and the fact that it's in ALPHA. The game will look a lot more like the Halo 3 trailer in terms of graphics. And I don't see how people think these screenshots look anything like Halo 2. They look better than Halo 2, but not as good as the Halo 3 trailer. Also, the campaign screenshot with MC against a wall was awesome. To those of you complaining about that, it's just the lighting :D

Alpha build dude. Considering it's still under development, it is pretty awesome. What is horrible? We will see teaser trailer graphic on real gameplay in ther future anyway.

Wow, the difference between those and Halo 2 Vista is the difference between Halo 1 and 2. Needless to say, Bungie really needs to touch up those visuals. I don't care if "ther just plceholdrs ya no0bs! gvie bungee sum t1me!', those look pretty unimpressive. I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but all you people saying how beautiful it looks are gonna end up ruining the game if you don't give Bungie some actual, honest feedback. I've seen lots of games flop because of overrated graphics, and i DONT want that to happen to Halo. On the plus side, the single player screens look good. But those MP screens are very drap. All grass textures, repeating ones too. I'm not saying we should be seeing FarCry grass here, and I'm thankful for Bungie keeping the same style of visuals, but some short clumps of desert-y grass (a la individual rendering!) here and there and some Normal-Mapped surfaces on the ground would be nice. Thats just my too cents.

on the laser, the yellow warning sign says (I think) Danger darn live wires I can't read the smaller one, and if I magnify it any more, it goes blurry and I can't read it =( also, the laser appears to be a super big different colour assault rifle... can anyone else see this? [Edited on 11/22/2006]

I love it! this is exactly what bungie needed to give to keep our motivation strong and our love for them. I wan t to ride that freakin atv and shoot that gun. It all looks soooo beautiful.

some of those were pretty awesome, love the new warthog look and noticed that the BRs have a longer nozzle. dont know if that means itll be affected, who knows some things i didnt like.. but then i noticed one crucial thing.... ALPHA...... love that word looks GREAT for alpha, cant wait to see what the finished verison looks like =D keep up the good work, and don dissappoint me xD
