Some have been here years, others haven't been here that long - but bottom line do you recognise most of the posters here day in and day out?
In my opinion I would say that I know most of the users posting in here, although I do see new members (or members I haven't seen before) posting in the flood and community forums almost everyday (which I think is because that many posters lurk and only post in discussions they feel worth posting in)
Whats your opinions on this?
-
No, there are thousands of people on here
-
Only person I see on a daily basis is spartain ken. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. WTF... [Edited on 01.06.2013 11:46 AM PST]

Yes of course, there are several members that I recognize on a daily basis, especially here in the Community.
Posted by: spartain ken 15 No, there are thousands of people on here
Touché, but are there no members that really stand out to you?
-
I recognize most people here.
-
I most definitely do. But nobody recognizes me... Because that's how I am.
-

Here in the Community Forum there's a lot of the same people posting. So, yeah, I've come to recognize many of them. However, there are a few that I don't recognize that seep in every now and then.
-
I'm starting to notice more people every day.
-
Most? Hell no, I don't think that's even possible.
-
Yeah i would say I do, on the forums I post on the most, but it's only a small amount compared to all the people on here. It gets more and more each month though.
-
Most, no. A small bunch, yes.
-
Even on the flood I recognize a lot of people. My brain's just wired a certain way, I suppose.

[Edited on 01.06.2013 11:57 AM PST]
-
Not really.
-
I often see people I recognize, but if I guy to the flood there will be many strange faces there.
Posted by: Viron recognise* is the English way of spelling it, not the american way ;)
Eh, it twas a jest; although I should invest in a better spellchecker.
And your opinion on if your recognise most people on the forums, do you think that many people choose to lurk rather than post etc or?
Sporadic lurking is much more common than consistent posting, especially when this site had active Halo statistics.
-
Eh, sometimes I'll recognize people.
-
There are so many I only recognize about 12 long time posters. And maybe about 10 recently active posters.
-
I recognize a lot of people, I just need to see a few posts from you for a few days and I'll recognize you permanently.
-
Posted by: XxExpungexX There are so many I only recognize about 12 long time posters. And maybe about 10 recently active posters.
I would say the same, its hard to maintain recognise a certain person when everyone is limited to certain avatars etc.
-
The only people I notice are moderators and employees, because of their different color text.

But it all comes down to how frequently they post. I recognize no one in this thread but Spartan Ken

If someone has taken the time, put in the effort and has been consistent in building an online persona, I tend to remember and recognize some names and people (actually, I recognize more than I imagined I would care to). But it does take time and persistence. Those who have the persistence and take the time, but jump between accounts/names/alts? No idea who any of them are, because the fact is that anyone could (and many do) "claim" to be someone infamous... and honestly, there's no way to know (or be bothered) to care "who is who" in that situation.
