I felt like writing this because is something that has been on my mind for a while.
For the past two years, I feel like I really have loss my faith on humanity. Why you ask? Well due to the things I have experienced and seen as of late. By the way, I'm 15 years old.
I don't live in the best place of the world, so you can argue things are like this only where I live, but I see this spreading.
I go to school to see most people there act like degenerates because it's what seems "cool" and the new trend nowadays. The first thing I want to discuss is weed. I myself don't smoke, and whether weed should be legal or not is another subject and is not what I want to discuss right now. I want to discuss people who smoke due only because it's trendy, and then do horribly academically and make poor choices.
These are the same people who are getting extremely drunk in a daily basis, mistreating other people, finding that wearing 200$ leather jackets and acting ghetto, and thinking that having "swag" is the most important thing in their life rather than trying to succeed. These people also seem to have no regard to human life, insulting each other, for example a man calling a women a -blam!-, or a women calling another women a slut.
It really saddens me that that's what the world is becoming too. If people can be so influence to act like that due to do the media (rappers, celebrities, etc) and act like brainwashed toys because what is trendy at the moment. And are unable to make their own choices, decisions, and think for themselves, but instead just be so gullible and manipulated, then I feel compelled to lose my faith on humanity
Edit- I changed it to the coming generation of adults who are currently teenagers, that what I meant to say. I noticed humanity may have been an exaggeration.

Humanity has always been like this. Learn to deal with it and do your part to make the world a little better.
-
This thread is making me lose faith in humanity. Seriously. That may have been the worst -blam!- reasons to lose faith in humanity ever. EVER! Youre -blam!- 15, you dont know -blam!-.
-
Op, there's unfortuneatly nothing we can do about that. Just focus on what you want to get out of your life and let other people continue their crap. It's not important to you anyways.

At least he's brave enough to put his age in knowing that people like you will disregard him because of it. Ya, i see where you are coming from. Probably not the best place to post though. The important thing is to not let it effect you. [Edited on 01.03.2013 5:29 PM PST]

Dude, you're 15. High School =/= the real World.
-
But, you only know about 0.00001% of the population...
GUISE HUMANITY IS BAD BECAUSE IMMATURE TEENAGERS
Fix'd it for you OP. You do realize that this is just high school right? You aren't the first to deal with this.

I'm 20 and I lost my faith in humanity when I was just a child.
-
So business as usual then. You're 15, around the age a lot of people really start noticing the world and it's numerous faults. You'll learn to live with it. It sucks, but it's another fact of life.
-
No, don't worry. The people you see around are just teens. They might mature up eventually or end up like total losers. Life and all.
-
I agree with you, OP. I'm a teenager too and I can't stand being around those types of people. I swear I can feel my IQ drop just from being within 10 feet of them. What you just have to remember is that they're gonna do what they're gonna do and there's absolutely nothing you can do about that. You'd actually be surprised how many people don't act this way, but I understand why you're alarmed at the amount of young adults that do. Just keep this in mind: If you have your priorities straight, unlike them, you'll grow up and be somewhat more prepared than them in the world. And they're future? Well there's always Mcdonald's.
-
Hey man my school is full of the same type of idiots, but dude it's high school. Many people will change and grow up quite a bit. The ones that don't will find their place.
-
Although this is quite an obvious troll; I'll just sit back and watch the Flood fall for it.

Think of humanity as an ocean. And those people in the OP are dirty drops. Just because there are a few dirty drops of water in the ocean doesn't turn the whole ocean dirty. Also, high school =/= the real world.

I'm 15 too and used to get really down about this issue, the fact that everyone around me did this and that and yadayadayada But then I realised, why get down about this? It's their problem not mine. So now I live a life not caring what other people do, and doing what I want to do. Although arguably I'm worse off than how I was before because I spend more time hating myself now
-
Nope. Like I said before, only "edgy" teens think there is no hope for humanity. We have a lot going for us.

As a 15 year old semi punk/hipster who gets on honor roll and smokes pot every once and a while I say don't generalize everyone. Just ignore them.
