Have you ever run into a B.Net member in public?

Have you? Preferably without meaning to. Preferably awkwardly. Last year I was working at a Cold Stone Creamery over the summer when these two tall, hip looking dudes walked in and got in line. The first I didn't recognize, but the second, with the lethargy on his face, with his Bright Eyes hair, with his sharp features, I recognized immediately. I had seen it on his blog years ago--probably back around '05 or '06. It was unmistakable. And I knew he lived in the same town where I attended college, at least at one point in his life. I knew there was only one way to make sure, so I timed my pacing with the customers so that I would be the one to ring up him and his friend. First his friend--whoever he was--and then him. He handed me a credit card. Perfecto. I swiped it, and while I waited for it to go through, I took one sly look at the name. I prefer not to say his whole name, but the first name starts with an "M" and his surname starts with an "S". It was his name. I handed him back his card. I gave him his receipt. He said, "Thank you," and left. The creepy thing is, Yoozel probably never had a clue that, for the five minutes that he was in line, I was analyzing his face, his demeanor, his movements, and his credit card for information that would without a doubt confirm to me that he was who I thought he was. I haven't seen him since. [Edited on 01.01.2013 5:06 PM PST]

 • You should have stalked said person. OT: Not to my knowledge. I'm fairly certain that an active user attends the same college as I do, though. [Edited on 01.01.2013 5:13 PM PST]

 • *slow clap* Bravo! OT: Nope, I think there's all of two other B.net members in my city, and they're too far out for me to go and meet them.

 • Too bad you couldn't run into someone good by accident. I've met a few BNet members IRL, but always as some kind of pre-arranged thing.

 • I did meet one guy during my college orientation, mainly because he noticed I had the word Bungie on the back of my shirt. Naturally he asked me a few questions and at the end of the day...I never saw him again.

 • Yeah, a new guy joined my class in High School and we became friends. Topic went to video games and I found out he had Xbox LIVE and then I found out that we already knew each other from Bungie/Podtacular. It was odd, but not awkward. [Edited on 01.01.2013 5:22 PM PST]

 • I've met other people who visit this website, but never the forums. I however enjoyed reading your story there, I'm a fan of being subtle with observing who's around without alerting them. Just by coincidence I've been able to find things out, I wish I hadn't.

Some would say I'm a creeper--but really, I just know how to navigate through life.

 • It's my dream that one day I'll be commuting on the train and some guy will walk up to me, glance at my Bungie tee and say "Jump Into Hell?", and we'll become best friends.

 • My sister, obviously, but I believe I met one during Summer Vacation. I had just finished a game of laser tag at a place called Ultrazone along with my sister. I live in California, and the time was around 11:00. So as we walked out, someone walked up to my sister and said, "Hey, you tagged me once. I've seen you around here a few times. My name is ____." I'm keeping the name disclosed. He held out his hand for a handshake, which my sister promptly rejected. We both saw that he was wearing a black Bungie shirt. It had a white fist holding a lightning bolt. I'm not certain, but there may have been a Septagon on the fist as well. On the back it said Bungie. He was also in the game that we had just got out of, obviously. He was holding a score card for it too. Anyways he seemed to match the typical characteristics of a Floodian such as being rather light-skinned, rather skinny, not much visible muscle, plus the fact that he introduced himself to my sister and not me. I can't say that these prove that he was, indeed, a Floodian, but it does help a little bit. And yes, that is how most Floodians are, as long as you don't believe the E-Peen boasting. I remember I made a thread for this the day after this happened. I never did find that guy. [Edited on 01.01.2013 8:37 PM PST]
