This world would be a boring place if we were all the same.
lol "Discrimination = moral".
Someone defined homophobia as "Traditional and moral?" How ridiculously misguided and contemptuous.

 • Whether it is in their DNA or a choice of their own, they are human. Remove their -blam!- orientation and their skin pigment, and they are the same as you. Race, nationality, -blam!- orientation, where they grew up, it all doesn't matter. Why should you, or anyone else have more rights then they have? I wanted to say that before this thread died. -blam!- I hate the opposing side so much on this issue.

You'd be better off watching Timbits hockey at this point.
I was at last years in Philadelphia. It was a memorable experience. You'll find that watching from home truly is the best location though. You either had a poor sightline or were too far from the action, no matter where you sat.

 •
Posted by: CrazzySnipe55
Posted by: Dback139 Again, you really seem to be blatantly ignoring the point that I'm referring to organic activity that is necessary for survival. That's all. That is the scope of my argument. Can humanity propagate organically between members of the same gender? The answer is no. Thus, in terms of PURE PRACTICALITY, I am not in favor of it. Simple as that. I still respect individuals as equals, but I am neither required, nor expected, to respect every decision that they make. Some of my better friends have been involved in unions with another individual of identical gender. I have nothing against them as fellow humans, I just don't support all the choices they make.
Given the ever-rising population of the planet and the growing problem of overpopulation in certain places, your argument of practicality is null and void in my opinion. It is much to not have a child than it is to have one if we're speaking from a practical perspective, on a global scale. ©
You make a very good point, and it's one that I've raised with my girlfriend on multiple occasions, much to her chagrin. This could be remedied by destroying the exact industry I work in, too much work is being done to create drugs to help people live longer. If my industry was axed entirely, I would be totally fine with it. However, R&D has been good to me, and I find that my research on preventing childhood obesity from a pre-natal standpoint is a worthy cause to continue working on. Some of my findings have actually been published in scientific journals as part of a larger collaboration. But back on your main point, I feel that if we weren't focused on keeping older people alive longer, future generations included, we wouldn't even need to debate your point to begin with. Nonetheless, there is merit in your logic, it just depends on what school of thought you subscribe to. I do think there is a clear difference between propagating the species and population control, but that's just me... [Edited on 12.12.2012 10:20 PM PST]

 • No point in being one, let people do what they want. It doesn't hurt me in the slightest.

You don't do certain things because "nature didn't intend that" and "it's not practical". Do you even have friends?
I think you would be relatively shocked at how un-boring my life actually is. That, and I find pharmaceutical research and development to be a very fulfilling career. I have a wonderful girlfriend of a year now and enough close friends that I'm usually out visiting them 4-5 nights a week. That and I'm an avid NHL fan, despite the current lockout. I actually find that I don't have enough hours in the day to enjoy everything that is important to me.
Yes, and if you had read what I typed, then you would see that I clearly stated that I was referring to organic means to an end. Communication through the internet is not a necessity. Humanity would certainly survive without internet, however they would not survive if copulation didn't occur by members of opposite gender.
But we do so many other things that we don't need to survive. Are you as against them as you are -blam!--blam!-ity? This is such a silly reason to be against something.
