I bought the LE and a map pass for my brother. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. More people with the maps to play with online.

According to a Microsoft PR, the reward is for the people who participated in the 14 day buy and play program (Specializations). They had complications, so they give map pack for free

No one got banned for the Fallout: New Vegas DLC they put up for free by accident, and I downloaded Fable 2 for free when it was up, and nothing happened. That's somewhat nice of them to do though. But I would have been a bit upset if I bought the season pass personally. This kind of shows why I'm not really a fan of the idea of paying before things are available.

You just get very vulnerable to get some... unpleasant news.

Cool. More people can play on the maps they probably wouldn't have bought otherwise. I'm not complaining, and I bought the season pass. A saving of 5 dollars doesn't make me mad in the slightest. The maps are "meh" so it's honestly a demo. One that may cost them in the long run.

As a LE owner I've now grown tired of 343i giving away content we paid extra for... First it was specializations no long being exclusive, and now the season pass is devalued. When you say the season pass offers users a discounted price, then give away 1 of the map packs for free you successfully lied to consumers. [Edited on 12.11.2012 8:20 PM PST]
