Lens Flare the Movie: Part II But seriously. Benedict Cumberbatch. In Star Trek. Sweet babby jesus.
-
Looks fantastic!
-
Half way through watching Next Generation now, and I want a Picard movie, not Kirk.

jizzd

Can't wait !!!

Looks like the villain is going to be Lt. Commander Gary Mitchell from the TOS pilot "where know man has gone before". As for the themes, I don't know if the whole dark intense thing is something Star Trek should be doing. I always felt it was more about the logic and hope for the future that defined Star Trek.

The problem with Abrams' Star Trek films isn't that they're bad movies, per say - it's that they aren't true to the themes and messages of Star Trek.

That ship that rose out of the water. All I could read of the name was "Nor." Confirmed: Shepard found his way into Star Trek. The real ending of Mass Effect was never what you saw in the game...

...old. This is the second one today. But still, i'm excited.

I doubt he's Khan because Cumberbatch would have a hell of a time pulling off the "genetically superior human" look, and he's seen wearing a Starfleet uniform. I see no reason why they wouldn't just make up a villain like they did in '09.
I've seen Khan bounced around as the villain, but actually, that makes much more sense.
He apparently died in the tie in comics. And I think Khan would better fit the whole "vengance" thing.
Posted by: Not The Joker
Posted by: Th3 Gr3at Dan3 As for the themes, I don't know if the whole dark intense thing is something Star Trek should be doing. In the same way people recommend the redlettermedia reviews for the Prequels, I'd recommend their review for Star Trek 2009. He basically says that the way Abrams is doing Trek is the only way for Trek to have survived in modern cinema. They're still true to the characters and the setting, and are still good movies. I think that's all that is needed.

I like my star trek when it is either complete action or complete boring logic. I prefer the logic side myself, but I am fine with the new version.
