Halo Reach was a great game
Because Halo 4 sucks.
When Halo Reach came out, Halo 3 was awesome and Halo Reach sucked. When Halo 3 came out, Halo 2 was awesome and Halo 3 sucked. Anyone starting to get the picture? This happens everytime a new game comes out; people point out its flaws and do nothing but whine how its different from the previous installment.
It's to the point where my mind's boggled. My mind's boggled because people go out and pay 60+ dollars for a game that they're just going to knock. I'm not going to say that you should suck it up and enjoy a game that you dislike but why are you wasting your money when you know you're going to hate the game anyway? Furthermore, what ever happened to people enjoying a game for the gameplay that it offers?
I'll just leave this here and read the responses when I get back from school. Don't disappoint me, Flood.

Different crowd of people every time. It is inevitable because everyone has different opinions. Pointing out the obvious is a waste of time, but I was hoping to kill this thread before anybody really posted. I also agree with Banana and PROBLEM23323. [Edited on 11.29.2012 3:30 PM PST]

I've noticed this trend for some time now. It continually fascinates me how fanboys will hype themselves up for a new game, enjoy the game for a few days, and then trash it and say that the previous iteration is better.

Not at all. While that was the trend for all of the preceding Halo games, Reach was, and always will be, the gaming equivalent of a turd melting in a brown paper bag on a hot day.

Really to say Halo 2 is better means someone needs to take off the nostalgia goggles.

Reach was my all time favorite for multiplayer and forge. Story, Halo 2 wins. Memories, Halo 3 wins. Halo 4 doesn't really fit in yet.

I enjoyed Halo Reach, I enjoy Halo 4. Halo 3 was my favorite.

Halo Reach is my favorite Halo of all time. Firefight is better than spartan ops, noble team is more interesting than the mute master chief, and multiplayer was also more fun.

The only difference that I can think of, which was considered huge, was the fact that Halo 3 had a horrible netcode. Not to mention the inconsistent Halo 3 BR spread, and I'll add in equipment as well. Not everything is covered in nostalgia, some people just have preferences. [Edited on 11.29.2012 3:37 PM PST]

actually i HONESTLY thought each game was better than the last up until halo 4. Truthfully this is my most sincere opinion of the halo sequel. and for the reasons i bought halo was because i wanted to see if it was matched my expectations , whether you think what i am saying is complete bullsh1t i am telling the truth. so you should consider re-analyzying what you have observed within society. but i do agree/consider what you are saying about the evident order of sequence of disappointment in newer games and that is logical to believe that this might happen because people's ideas / expectations are set to high. but maybe you are just pissed off with what people are saying is what i may not agree with. because though... you shouldn't speak about the subject unless you know for sure and have official research and fact that this is actually happening. since obviously there are individuals like me who are a different case. The general consensus is: 1. Halo 1 2. Halo 2 3. Halo 3 4. Halo 4 5. Halo: ODST 6. Halo Wars 7. Other Halos 8. Reach is okay I don't know but that general consensus seems to be the general consensus.
