One can find connections anywhere if they look hard enough.
-
Seems rather coincidental.
-
That video is fan-made though, isn't it? ©
-
That's fanmade... And whatever your second link is, is just, throwing a bunch of different things together. Halo 3 legendary ending was leaving things open. That was believed to be shield world. Maybe it was hinting towards Destiny, but I believe it was nudging Halo fans more than that. Hinting Destiny is totally different than an ARG.
-
Yeah, I think Microsoft had something to do with the ending of Halo 3. The concept of a ship orbiting the planet at the end of Halo 3 isn't that great of a connection either. Most of that stuff was already know, or was put together once that trailer was out. The ending of Marathon has been known literally since the Destiny copyright were found. The logo stuff, I don't see the resemblance at all. I'm surprised who ever put that thing together thinks the outer ring of the Marathon is related to an alien ship, seems completely unrelated but he seems knowledgable on Marathon. It's way too distanced to think the outer ring is a symbol of an alien ship.

This is why Bungie remains my favourite dev.

The inner circle is the alien ship and the outer circle was the earth. Its a long shot but I see how the connection was made.

>Halo 4 had not been planned yet, and Bungie had nothing to dew with it Those glorious bastards. Well played.
-
I do not think this qualifies as an ARG, but rather hints being dropped.
-
This just wreaks of ancient Easter eggs hinting at future developments, like Pixar. Bungie: 1, Everyone else: 0.

Op - why did you post the link to that image from /V/, when there was a lot more information in the thread itself? > the 'Destiny' and 'Agile Wings' websites > the fact that the office address for both websites is the same > the telephone number on the website (i have it for those that want it) > the fact there is a recorded message that ends after 7 seconds

I'm not saying there is a reference at the end of Halo 3 towards Destiny, at all. In fact, I said just the opposite. I see no connection. And on an unrelated note, I agree with you with the part of Bungie has more of a choice when it comes to creative freedom, except with the end of Halo 3. To me, it makes sense that they wanted to make sure they can finish Halo 3 with the possibility of another installment of their multi-billion dollar franchise. I'm absolutely positive Microsoft wouldn't of allowed Bungie to kill off Master Chief if they tried. Microsoft definitely was making sure Halo 3 would end in a way that they wanted.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G-CbxgKKAk
>CloneOutcast >ARG >lol The Destiny Awaits tagline has been noted since ODST's poster bearing the tagline in the game. I hardly think that guy's video is relevant. As for the image, most of that doesn't really depict an ARG or ARG evidence, just random connections from the past. I cannot accept anything from Marathon as being a "clue" to Destiny. Retroactive supporting evidence only works if the thing being explored was in existence around that time in the same form. The only real connection is Asklon. The Marathon "Destiny" quote is more central to Bungie's story principles, I think, where you essentially embody the same protagonist in every single game of Bungie's. Destiny is likely just a really fitting name that ties a lot of what they're doing together, harking back more as a reference than anything else.

Thats a cool video by Clone, never seen it before. I think some of the parrallels seen are a bit contrived, the ODST one and the end of Marathon are cool references though. `Destiny` being a reference to Marathon and ODST referencing Destiny (if that makes sense)

My God, people, stop calling phone numbers and trying to access websites. There is no ARG. All you're doing is disturbing people. And for the love of everything sacred, somebody go and set /v/ straight, please. These "connections" are inane.
