I am going to play through ODST again, what is the best, most realistic and atmospheric difficulty?
-
Heroic/Legendary. It's up to you really. There is no "realistic" difficulty. [Edited on 10.27.2012 1:41 PM PDT]

-
Heroic is the mans difficulty
-
Legendary
-
Posted by: path1k Legendary
This ^ ... the only way (especially the final battle)
-
Legendary IMO but many would deem it too grueling
-
Realistic? Heroic, sure Legendary is harder, but your enemies are just a little too difficult and take away from the fun.
-
I always found heroic to be the sweet spot when first playing a new Halo campaign. After I get the hang of things I toss a couple of skulls on to keep me on my toes.
-
Posted by: Mythical Wolf There is no "realistic" difficulty.
actually, a part of the Heroic description says this is the way Halo is meant to be played
-
Heroic.
-
Legendary with GBP and nothing else. Maybe Heroic Thunderstorm GBP.
-
Posted by: MisguidedDrake4 Legendary with GBP and nothing else.
Yes because seeing confetti coming out of someone when they get shot is normal, right?
-
The only skulls that can help with that are Famine and Cowbell. Don't bother with Tough Luck as it has the annoying side effect of making every single Brute berserk. Mythic will make you very durable and ODSTs should be tougher than marines so I guess that might work too.
-
Well yeah but that doesn't mean it's realistic. Realistically, one plasma pistol shot to a marines chest would kill him instantly.

Plus I've played so much with it on when I play without the game feels incredibly different.
Posted by: MisguidedDrake4
The OP stated that he wanted a "most realistic and atmospheric". Confetti coming out of someones head when they get shot is not realistic.

I'd wager that more than half of grunts killed in Halo history have had their heads explode...Think about it. JK. If you're going for atmosphere OP, set it to heroic (so it's not overly difficult or rage-inducing and your tactics can be more varied). Maybe put on Mythic or Famine if you want more "realism"
-
Man, I don't know, Misguided. Has been a while, but I recall a lot of running around, trying to find a reasonably loaded weapon. (Not Dead Space-style, but...) Legendary is tough enough IMO.
-
Yes, but sitting back with 6 rockets and a full god-pistol can put a reasonably skilled player to sleep. Famine forces you to come out of your comfort zone and use weapons you would normally leave behind.
-
Heroic. It's difficult but not impossible.
-
Whole campaign? Heroic, you want to enjoy the game after all. Legendary usually frustates you, making completing the game quite a chore, Its only there for the challenge.
-
Legendary or bust, brotanical garden. Am far from the world's greatest gamer, but, I generally end up playing on the hardest setting of any game. The challenge is the thing. (!)
-
Probably Heroic.
-
If you have already done legendary then i would say normal, If not then go legendary, Its hard though and very time consuming.
-
If you're playing solo, do campaign on heroic and FF on normal. FF with limited lives is tougher than campaign. If you have one or more skilled coop buddies, incrementing the difficulty is worth a try. LM
